Thanks everyone for appreciating the FF. Here is the next chapter:
Jalal was getting tense as the team of hakims worked feverishly to save Jodha begum. He wanted to know how she was doing but did not want to interrupt the important job that were doing of saving his Jodha begum's life.
Finally, hakim sahiba came to Shehenshah and said the words he had dreaded to hear- their medicines were not showing the effect they should and Jodha was getting a high fever due to the poison. They did not know what was the antidote.
Sheheshah was shocked- when he had said he would not see Jodha when she closed her eyes, he had never expected it to come true. He cursed himself for uttering those words. Jodha's last words before she swallowed the poison haunted him... That she may never open her eyes again.
However, he couldn't just sit there helpless- he had to do something. He summoned Atgah Saab again. He ordered him to search Benezir's room for anything that could help them create an antidote ... He asked them to force Benezir to help in this manner.
Atgah Saab soon returned with the pearls. He said we could not get Benezir to talk. Again, the only thing in her room are these pearls.
Jalal contemplated for a moment. Why would pearls be so important to a vishkanya and why weren't they strung? He called over one of the hakims and asked him to observe the pearls closely. After careful observation, the hakim found the ark. He exclaimed, "it looks like an antidote. Perhaps, God has show us a way to save Jodha begum."
Jalal's heart race with excitement- a new hope raised in his heart.
With this new ark, the treatment continued.
A few hours later ...
Jodha opened her eyes ... She murmured Shehenshah, aap tik to hein, benezir ... She was tossing and turning.
Jalal ran to her side ... And knelt beside her. He gently held her hand and caressed her forehead and said, "Jodha I am fine ... All thanks to you. Now relax ... Your job is done. Now please rest."
Jodha turned unconscious again. Jalal was again left with self- torment - while he was happy that Jodha was recovering, her selflessness and concern for only him pierced his heart. She had dedicated her every thought and moment to him. How could he have ever distrusted this Jodha ... He was not one to repeat mistakes. He knew he would not distrust her again.
