Wonder if he will do so a third time and what will the result be or will Chudail realise and not wait for the 3rd time - And though TE has done so Chudail has not claimed what he has offered!!! And I also feel TE's Q to Chudail of when have you ever taken me as your husband is tied to this aspect - that Jodha has never claimed her right as his wife!!! I have posted this on 2 other posts and now am sharing it here also -

Somewhere I think TE wants Jodha to claim her position as his wife as a matter of her right and not as something that he has given her - and if you see, Jodha has always given up her place to Ruqu baby - she has never said that 'I too have a right to be his wife and that does not mean I am taking your place but I cannot be denied mine' - this is something that has to come from Jodha herself and until then Jodha will never be a wife - whatever she may claim. Claiming your right does not mean you are denying another theirs. As Coelho says - When you say Yes to someone make sure you are not saying No to yourself - Jodha needs to learn this.

This silence from TE is his way of making Jodha underatand that if 'you truly feel that I am your husband then do not let any of the others push you out of my life, claim what is rightfully yours' - Though he could have told off Ruqu that would always have the tag that it was TE who gave her the place and the rights of a wife, which he already has but has Jodha accepted it??? - if we are talking equality then as a woman who has married her man, every woman shd have the guts and gumption to take the place that is rightfully hers and not wait for the man to give it to her everytime she feels threatened by a MIL, SIL, other women etc - and if one says that the man shd do so everytime the wife is pushed away (which will always happen from MIL, SIL and sundry others) then let us all shut up about equality.

wow wonderful analysis. as u said jalal could have told off ruku easily, but honestly why should he??? she still havent fully accepted jalal as her husband. jodha should claim her rights as her wife, just like ruku did. jodha should be fully convinced about her own rights, before she expects jalal to talk for her. jalal also wants jodha to claim herself as his wife, he wants jodha to claim her rights as his wife. jodha had always said tht jalal should always be with ruku, even after the tel molish she was only thinking about wht ruku felt. so its time she should stand before jalal & ruku & say tht "im his wife & i also have full right on him". as u said feminism is about equality, not just man giving rights to the wife.

Hi Adiana,

I love your take on this. But I'm hesitant to take it seriously. I think CVs write things and then forget about it.

He did this to Ruqs too. There was a time when he taunted her about her being jealous and when she said no I'm not jealous he said to her that she should be jealous. All that needless taunting led to nothing and we never got an explanation for it. Even at that point he seemed very much like he was urging to Ruqs to take their relationship beyond friendship. And she never got the point.

I always wondered why he pretended to not sense what Ruqs feels for him. I was hoping that was what it (i mean taunting) would lead to and him saying he regrets never giving her the love of a husband but alas that was not to be.

So I am hesitant to think that he is really giving her a third chance. He is in love when CVs say he is and the same goes for Jodha. It will be sudden, much like the bachao Jalaal campaign. 😕

Sorry if a sound like a buzzkill. I would be happy to be wrong.

M glad that Jalal Jo measurative confronrations, as I wished, r here!
Plus I never expected GJ (Ghrinit Jantu) to die bt only b hurt. In that case also, m happy. N Jalal ka injury calls for lep, as we saw!
N nice interpretation of Jalal ka DEK k Taqualiya phase ka look! Surely, it was good. Bt I wanted a smirk too!

Sandhya, now this is not being tenacious, it is being pigheaded!😉

I do not remember about yesterday, for he was already seated in the DEK when they began the session, but in the one with the milk test and the awaam getting after the GJ (ghrinit jantu) there were 2 DEK sessions and each time Jalal lugged his shamsheer along, though I never understand this universal practice in those days for the aristocracy and royalty. As I remember writing to you, even my mother remarked that both tiimes, as he came in, he was carrying it in his right hand, but as soon as he was seated, he switched it to his left.

You have developed selective amnesia, my child!

Hi Aunty,
I apologize for not showing up earlier.

I am going to sound very dejected about this show, its why I keep away from the forum. This show does not do for me what it did a few months ago. I forget to watch and even read updates these days. I have only caught a few scenes while flipping between channels.

But everyone is in high spirits so I dont want to be a wet blanket, so I keep away.

I dont know why, but this love story for me now seems really off. I cant put my finger on it exactly, but something doesnt seem right anymore.

Its to me now a typical Ekta show. I have re-learnt all the reasons to not watch EK shows that I had learned after watching Kasautii Zindagi Kii. The heroine can never be wrong, she is a 16th century Prerna fighting for Anurag then Mr Bajaj...MA and Ruqs together are Komolika. Mr Bajaj's children are equivalent of Rahim the step child. Salima has become what Anurag later became...a constant source of support, no questions asked.

I find it quite ridiculous. Salima supports Jo for no rhyme or reason. Seriously, what made her believe when no one else did? I just dont get that. Has she seen ben do something suspicious? She supported Jalal during the pregnancy fiasco, that makes sense. He is someone she has known all her life , they are cousins, but what about Jodha ? Its this kind of scripting that turns me off completely. Everybody takes turns, first HB now Salima. Would it not have made more sense for her to tell Jalal to talk to Mirza Hakim? I'm so tired of this. Jalal not knowing about Ben is the worst of all. This is the same Jalal that struck down the assassin in his tent in a fraction of a second *head desk*

I think instead of showing Jalal as madly in love they should have showed Jodha as the passionately in love wife who loves her husband beyond all accepted rules of right and wrong. It seems weird (only to me of course) to see a man with so many responsibilities and wives be biased to one person. I wish Jodha was the giver and he the taker . She should have been his Meera bai, the well of unconditional undying love, that would have become a support system for him. Instead the reverse happened here. Its like a high school girls fantasy of having one man madly in love with you. 😕

Anyway I'm just going to shut up, read your superb posts and find another show to waste time on :)

How I wished Ben had got the ghrinit jantu title posthumously... Never mind!
what was with Jalal's calculative expressions when Ben was moving in for the 'KILL'...sorry KISS..😕
This was the first ever DEK scene where I had so much fun
Shehenshah was all hot and happening and Jo was cool as cucumber😎
Umm... Was it just me or did anyone see Jalal gloating inwardly- Jo could kill and get killed for me

Yeah, I also felt that one day may be Jo will tell Jalal that for him "woh pran le bhi sakti hain or pran de bhi sakti hain" 😳

Very nice and elegantly expounded, Adiana. but @blue is not true.

Not only does Jodha constantly assert to others, when it suits her to claim the rank, that she is Shahenshah ki Begum, but she says that to Ruqaiya as well when she is trying to meet Jalal in Ruqaiya's room and is told by her that she is the Begum-e-Khaas. Jodha then retorts I am also his Begum.

She tells Jalal the same thing when she is helping Rahim fly a kite and Jalal comes up to them. She says then I am your begum, and I do not need any reason to meet you and talk to you. Of course that was before The Letter and The Shove.

So Jodha never hesitates to claim her position as his wife when it suits her, but backs off when it comes to fulfilling the responsibilities that go with it.

Today, I do not think she could have asserted herself vis a vis Ruqaiya without descending to an undignified catfight. I think she left gracefully, with her dignity intact, and of course Ruqaiya was appallingly rude.

Jalal would never interfere when 2 women fight over him - not that Jodha was fighting here - he enjoys it. Moreover, the anger against Jodha is still there within him, lurking in the wings.Whence the oblique barb directed at Jodha while being ostensibly meant for Ruqaiya I know that you are really worried about me, you are not just doing it for show. It registers, and there a flicker of hurt in Jodha's eyes.

The main change in Jodha of late it that no matter what Jalal does or how he behaves with her, she does not fume and rage as she used to do. She might wipe away a surreptitious tear, as she did today, but she does not flag in her single minded focus on protecting his life, and as she herself confesses today, she is never upset with him and she continues to fret about his safety.

Baby steps, but she will get there!

I found what Salima tells Hamida - that they should not interfere in the Jalal-Benazir affairs as Jodha was tackling it energetically and she should get the full credit with Jalal for striving so hard to save his life - so stupid as to take one's breath away.

Here is a vishkanya who will look for every opportunity to come close to the Shahenshah and assassinate him,, guards or no guards. Jodha is not a sarvavyapi, so how can she make sure she is around every single time the GJ (ghrinit jantu) makes yet another attempt? Instead of tackling the matter head on, and Hamida Banu is the only one who can do so by right, Salima wants her to back off so that Jodha can get all the credit for trying to protect him. Now how irresponsible and idiotic is that ?

Let us hope they at least manage to exploit the poisoned well revelation properly.

As for Adham Khan, I suspect he is going to try and encourage the GJ on to eliminate Jalal, with the promise that she can then become the Malika thru him! Or else he might ask her to kill Jalal, and offer to help free Abul Malu in return for that.

Anyhow, 2 new and promising developments. Not bad!

Don't fret so much, my dear, and read my comments above re: Salima and Hamida. And Jodha too, of course.

I am delighted to have you here again. Why should you apologise? I would like you to drop in whenever you have the time and the inclination, that is all.

I have not watched any of Ekta's serials except Pavitra Rishta. Jodha is like a combo of the 2 paragons there, Archana and Purvi.

No, my dear, given the way in which she got married to him,and the differences of faith, culture and upbringing between them. for Jodha to be blindly and one-sidedly in love with Jalal would not be realistic. It has to come by stages.

And yes, a man with so many responsibilities and wives can be biased towards and wrapped up one person, one of the aforesaid many wives. Dasharatha was obsessed with Kaikeyi, Jahagir with Nurjahan and Shah Jahan with Mumtaz.

As for why Salima falls for Jodha, it is because Jodha is a transparently good person - so instantly loving to little Rahim, which is the surest way to his mother's heart! - and not given to backbiting, plotting and scheming to do others down, or to oneupmanship. It is true that Jodha's goodness and kindness vanish when it comes to Jalal, but when his own mother, Hamida Banu, does not seem bothered about that, why would Salima be bothered an d blame Jodha for that?

For Salima, who has been sheltered all her life by Bairam Khan, Jodha must seem like an oasis in the harsh desert of the harem and its squabbling inmates. No wonder she takes to Jodha.

Once again, do not let this show get so much under your skin. It is not worth it.No show is.
