MAHAM
We should stop writing an ode to Jodha and Jalal, because MA changes, influences and fulfils the story in this serial more than any other lately. If anything, she's the one that deserves the ode!
She twists the leads' lives to suit her lofty purposes and they let themselves be played. She acts like none another and the number of well-functioning grey cells she singularly possesses can match up to what all the rest of the characters in the serial currently boast of!
Besides; as per latest revelations - she also seems mighty capable of teleporting herself into any nook and cranny as the script desires. Yesterday, while she was inside the temple and behind the bushes - today we get a glimpse of her practically sitting in Shivani's palanquin.
Not only did she create a rift between Jalal and Jodha utilizing the letter and then Benazir; she's managed to brain-wash Shivani to run away from the wedding mandap - AFTER having instigated her to AGREE to the wedding in the DEK!
This is a different fact that Shivani seems to be the least-witted of the lot. However, no one in the serial seems to have escaped the many interesting (some half-baked) ploys of MA - neither Jalal, nor Jodha, not Ruqaiyya, not HB, not Salima, not Shivani - in fact, none...
Obviously, we haven't even reached the consequences all this going to have upon Jodha's repute - once the intentionally misplaced letters are discovered in her chamber tomorrow!
JALAL-BHARMAL
RT looked fresher from yesterday, but is still recuperating!
Nevertheless, it felt nice to hear two sentences from Jalal as he addressed Bharmal today 'You are older to me...like a father figure ...you are the highest ranking Mansabdar in my administration...I respect your advice and your words'
Thankfully, this scene brought about a welcome change from both the Benazir angle and the Shivani-Hakim debacle! Somehow; this one scene showed that Jalal has his eye on things other than the Harem too!
Additionally, this conversation between Jalal and Bharmal - about who to give this important 'position' to i.e. Bhagwant Das or Hakim Mirza is telling. It is going to be another bone of contention between Jalal and Hakim Mirza in the upcoming episodes when my guess is that Jalal will hand over the position to Bhagwant - this, apart from Jalal supporting Shivani's wedding to Tejvant, of course!
MA-ADHAM
This MA-Adham conversation about 'Why Adham needs to pay attention to the happenings in a Jashan' is so repetitive it really can be done without!
JALAL-HAKIM
Jalal(who looked quite smart himself in his new attire) getting Hakim dressed up for the wedding was a filmy scene but sweet. Its obvious this relationship between Jalal and Hakim is only being overtly highlighted so that their enmity in upcoming episodes has THAT much more of an effect!
Jalal advising Hakim about how to go about his duties as a married man, Hakim reliving their playful youth, Hakim's tear-filled eyes, their brotherly hug - all of it is a testament to the jarring melodrama that's to come!
Such a pity - we'd always wanted a strong supportive male lead as Jalal's friend/brother/courtier. The first time we actually see glimpses of the same, it turns out the path has already been set for the entrant to go against the leads!
SHIVANI's WEDDING PREPARATIONS
Obviously, the amount of hoo haa we'd witnessed in Jodha's and even to a large extent in Sukanya's wedding is absent here. Shivani's wedding (even without the troubling love triangle) seems rushed and like a damp squib! Possibly the one thing that stood out of it all was the beautiful transformation of the wedding hall - my praise could also be a by product of having watched the interiors of the Harem and DEK relentlessly for the past 1 month!
JA-JO SCENE
Hmmm I don't know what to make of this confrontation between them. All I can say as of now, is that the leads looked good in their new attires. Beyond that, little else! There was a lot of nok-jhok, a few hidden compliments - nothing different to what we've been seeing the past month or so.
At least earlier; it seemed convincing. Today, it felt like even the leads were following their instructions without much ado. That or I've become so used to seeing the same thing so many times in the past 6 months that even such interesting leads are failing to add any further dimension to it!
TEJVANT
This fellow cannot act to save his life, can he? He looked as disheartened about his lady being promised to someone else as he looked elated about running away with her today. In his cotton pyjamas and his horse that materialized out of nowhere - riding with a Rajvanshi bride - wouldn't the couple be attracting more than their fair share of attention?
BENAZIR
Yawn!!!Yawner!!!Yawnest!!!
JODHA
I felt very dejected watching Jodha's plight as she stood there in the open field - wondering with whom her good-for-nothing sister must have gone with!
PRECAP
Typical saas-bahu wedding-cliffhanger stuff this!
Will rake in the TRPs and viewership, will bore the fans more!
