- How pompous this sounds!!! I am srry if I sound rude but I do not believe that any person can "Turn" another into anything and I do not believe anyone can teach another anything. As the Mother (Mother Mira) said - We are all born knowing everything, all we need to do is seek it. And my belief is that we change becoz we want to for ourselves.

So in my book Jodha is the doorway for Akbar to find his 'Self', his 'Soul'. And not to make Jalal into an Akbar. No one can do that. Only Akbar could do it - Jodha was the opportunity that the Universe gave him, which he took with both hands.

Thinking of Jodha being the one who changes Jalal/Akbar may sound feminist but in my book it is highly self glorifying of womanhood. And as a woman, I would rather be a liberal, than fall into the pit of self glorification.

No Its alright...u r just saying what u feel 😊.
But you must agree atleast on the point that had it not been for Jodha's presence in his life, Jalal would still remain the ruthless warrior Bairam Khan created. No one is denigrating Jalal's efforts but one has to credit Jodha for influencing such changes in him. And if u read the line u quoted u will realize that Jodha is not doing some great magic of Transfiguration. 😕 Jalal will learn a lot of things by being the cause and/or witness to her struggles in a foreign environment. As he did today...Jodha chose to wear Mughal attire and likewise Jalal fulfilled his role as Jamai to a Rajvanshi family.

And you are talking about "turning"? Saint Valmiki used to be a dacoit who turned into a saint after trying to loot a holy man (forgot his name😕) who advised him to chant Lord Ram's name in meditation. 😆
All appreciate Valmiki's efforts but also credit that holy man too. Its a matter of perspective thats all.😳

And who is glorifying Jodha? 😕 I did say she is still a spoilt princess who is learning and growing up after marriage.

I dont belong to any Mahila Mandali 😆. I say what I feel is true. Thats all. 😊

Lilly Leery: What's a soul mate?

soul mate is the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. It's someone who makes you a better person. Actually, they don't make you a better person, you do that yourself because they inspire you. 😳

jodha is his true soulmate .😳

@bold Would he? Are u so sure? And remember he had shown the seeds of greatness before Jodha came in his life. So how do you say that the Universe may not have made him Akbar by giving him some other route?

As for Valmiki, even he did not turn / change due to another but for his own self by taking the opportunity that the Universe provided.
