Hi Friends!While we faithfully follow the lives of Jodha and Jalal episode after episode ,without missing the slightest change in their expressive countenances and trying to catch the subtlest hint of love between the two,our charming Jodha is blissfully unaware of our trepidations.The desert rose has set foot on the banks of Yamuna not for the mundane task of falling in love and creating history (I'm telling you the serial makers have been deceiving us from day one ) but to set right all that goes wrong in the royal Mughal household.Just listing below a few of her lessons in morality as far as my memory goes back.We all know that there are one too many 😊
1.RUQQAIYA BEGUM IS PREGNANT
Lesson to be learnt: How to rejoice in your arch enemy's happiness.You should even attempt to write a few verses in honour of the happy occasion.
Effect on us audience:So Jalal has begun to appreciate the beauty of Jodha"s flawless character.Finally they are warming up to each other and the love story begins.(Fingers crossed)
2.JODHA DECLARED INNOCENT.
SHE HAD NO HAND (with the spoon)IN RUQQAIYA'S ABORTION:
Lesson to be learnt:How to hold your head high in the face of adversity.There is no nobler cause than patriotism even if it means laying down your life to save the honor of your motherland.
Effect on us audience:Thank God this unending abortion drama has come to an end .This was hopefully their last tiff.This time the love story will definitely kick off (fingers still crossed)
3.THE EMPEROR INJURES HIS HAND WHILE PRACTICING WITH THE SWORD
Lesson to be learnt:Even though you may be full of GHRINA for your husband,the first and foremost duty of a wife is to apply the nearest available LEP to the injured husband.Time is crucial in providing first-aid.
Effect on us lesser mortals:Couldn't they have prolonged this scene?Why did she not apply LEP on the other hand which the Shahenshah had so sexily injured deliberately ?Do we not deserve these rare moments of love in this non existent love -story?
4.JODHA AND JALAL FORCED TO SHARE THE SAME ROOM IN THE JOURNEY TO AND FRO AMER AND IN AMER
Lesson to be learnt:Never disobey your mother-in-law.Though the blood in your veins screams GHRINA, GHRINA every time you look at your husband,you should always be a dutiful daughter and daughter-in-law.Massage your husband's aching head,his aching shoulders,dress his unhealed wounds repulsive as the tasks may seem.Never shy away from a wife's duties (Expect those which involve bringing his heir in this world)
Effect on us love-struck audience:Such golden opportunities wasted!!!So many nights they spent together and all we get is a fake consummation.Nothing is even left to imagination. No more fingers crossed.
However, things have brightened up in the last two weeks.Finally the love story is moving forward with baby steps.Our fingers are crossed again and hopefully Jodha Begum's lessons on morality will take a back seat .But next week's pre-cap has shattered my hopes as she has started offagain...
5.JODHA ANGUISHED BY ADHAM"S LUST FOR A BAALIKA
Lesson to be learnt:To silently watch injustice being meted out to a weaker person amounts to being a perpetrator of injustice yourself.If your position and power can undo wrong,leave no stone unturned to do so.
Effect on us seekers of love above righteousness:The way Jalal was looking at Jodha in the pre-cap while she lectures him !!! Wow !the import of Jodha's words is completely lost on us.All we can think is that why doesn't he kiss her and stop her constant babble 😉
Wake up JA fans!!! please pay some heed to Jodha's lessons on how to lead a virtuous and righteous life.She has been trying really hard ever since this saga started.Stop looking for the non-existent love in her every well meaning lesson.She has even managed to tame the reckless Jalal. It's our turn now 😉
