What a sweet episode. Many of the scenes were differently presented today and the entire episode was a treat to watch - especially after the twisted negativity in the form of Adham and Shareef's scenes yesterday!
1) Jalal addressing his soldiers -
As the prime commander of his troops, Akbar would have given many such instigating talks to his sena. It was good to see this different scene today. Also (camera tricks or not) it was a lot more than twenty thirty odd soldiers! The depiction of it - emerging through the apertures of a chamiana, the balcony he stood on, rooted under his flag, the sun shining on him as he spoke - it was all beautiful!
We got to see a glimpse of this powerful warrior - who at the same time, didn't sacrifice his 'civilian' ethics!
2) Jalal-MA
The cinematography when he was talking to a proud MA was spectacular. Also, using the analogy of the kite - i.e. controlling the strings of the kite vis a vis managing the reigns of the kingdom was a treat to listen to!
3) Jodha-HB
Jodha understanding Jalal's pain and his intentions for having punished BB. How adorable were her dialogues here.
4) Jodha-Jalal
This scene lived up to my expectations. For being the first personal interaction of theirs - it was neither hyped nor over-dramatic. We didn't have the winds swaying and her hair flying as she tried to comfort the king. He was in pain, she empathized and it was it - nothing more, nothing less!
Jodha watching BB-Jalal's interaction with tears in her eyes and understanding the significance of those 'cowrie' shells. Watching him take those shells once BB'd left.
Him wanting no sight of Jodha - but, her going ahead to advise him anyway. Her hesitation to place her hand on him, but going forth to do so anyway. Jalal being unmoved by it all because of his grief - but, Jodha following her heart and speaking her mind out anyway! I liked it...it was sombre and well-directed.
5) Jalal's self talk
Jalal talking to himself in his chamber as the light through the lattice windows depicting the transition from night to day - was beautifully shot. I wonder what he meant when he'd said 'I didn't know that day would turn out to be very different from what I'd envisaged!'🤔
6) Birthday celebrations
For a difference, his birthday celebrations showed a different set of scenes - freeing of prisoners, distribution of clothes etc instead of usual Jashan and sherbet!😆
7) What would Jo gift him?
Jodha's smile on knowing EVERYONE was happily celebrating her Shehenshah's birthday
'Have a look at him' Jodha tells Mothi
'Who, Kanhaji?' Mothi asks
'No the baansuri and the mor pankh on him!' Jodha corrects her
How sweet a sight it is to watch Jodha finally acknowledging all he's done for her and sparing MORE thoughts for Jalal than for her Kanhaji!
8) Jalal-Ruqaiyya
The proud friendly smile on Jalal and Ruqaiyya's face as they hugged each other and the genial manner in which they both exchanged their views on his birthday, the celebrations and his gift!
9) Jalal with his various Ammis
I was quite touched by the 'Salaam' he gave Jiji Anga and the taaweez they'd gifted him. It was very humble and yet PRICELESS!
10) The puzzle
I liked the different 'andaaz' with which Ruqaiyya had presented the gift to Jalal. A lot of thought had gone into it and knowing him so well only helped - obviously, Jalal was enthralled by solving the puzzle. What was even more adorable was the manner in which all the harem ladies seem to join together in helping Ruqaiyya with the gift, even MA! Always a pleasure to watch positivity and cordiality in a series!
11) The twist
What a pleasure-to-watch twist when unwittingly Rahim's mistake had ended up leading Jalal all the way to Jodha...only, for the innocent Jo to give him HER OWN gift.
Not surprised that Jalal will be impressed by it and possibly shower the initial 'excitement' of it all on Jodha instead of Ruq. Ruqaiyya is only going to be left embittered by it all (and though I root for Akdha) one cannot help but feel sorry when all hard work goes kaput thus!
Precap
I am desperate to know what happens..please CVs don't disappoint! The baansuri was a pleasant surprise from Jalal's side..let this be so too!
And why the extra-naughty expressions Jalal? All she said was she was giving you a gift - NOTHING MORE!😛
