Many of them use "hum". So does Maham. So do all the eunuchs.

They grow up in the atmosphere, so they pick up on that.

Moti is impeccable in her manners to everyone including Jodha!! I love her. 😃

She is Jodha's childhood friend. So she addresses her like that in private. Not when there are other people around.

Like how Jalal addresses Ruqaiyya as his Begum & talks to her formally, but in private he many times refers to her as his Gatti & Tum.

Childhood friends. 😊

In their world. Everyone is is so stiflingly formal that all this created some sort of intimacy & warmth between the two.

Ruqaiyya takes Jalal's name but she is his only Begum to do so. And she can do so only because she is his childhood friend & because he cares deeply about her.
