I don't think so, i really don't think he is demeaning Jodha to Ruku, what he was saying is the truth, Jodha cannot take ruku place in Jalal life, Ruku is his best friend.

to me what he was trying to do was make Ruku secure again, he stroke her over inflated ego and she was happy again.

I think not even Jalal himself knows what is going on in his mind and why he goes out of his way to please Jodha and make sure she is happy and also why he is so drawn to her.

Infact jodha's feelings are genuine she is not faking like jalal...she is not playing games like him...if she hates him she will say it staright on his face...jalal doesn't deserve her love...he is just using jodha to make ruku jealous
