Thank you, Sonia, and my Deepavali resolution, to stop critiquing Jodha, is meant to achieve the same happy state of mind!😉

The resolution of the body heat conundrum today was so ludicrous in terms of either logic or simple physics that it did a lot to restore my mood. Do see my response to Kamal above if you have the time.

As for Ruqaiya, you are too harsh on her. I do not agree with the facile explanation that she is simply defending her own interests that are tied to Jalal. She attaches top priority to Jalal's takht because she is a Mughal princess and she has seen all the terrors and upheavals he has been thru, and thus sees the paramount need for him to retain the throne. But as Alakh says, she is his childhood friend and she loves him in her own fashion. That cannot be denied.

To revert, Hamida Banu says the same to Jodha after the tiger attack, when Jalal is at death's door. She never seems to be mourning the likely death of her son then, does she?She only voices fear for what will happen to the sultanate if the Shahenshah dies. So how, using the same logic, would you interpret those statements by Hamida? Obviously that she cares nothing for Jalal as her son, but only for the Emperor.

Jodha has seen nothing of any kind of hardship in her life, except when Amer is threatened by Sharifuddin. So, by the same token, if and when Jodha tries to protect Jalal in the future, one could argue similarly that it would be because his continuance in power is vital for Amer's survival.

That would not be true, and neither is it true that Ruqaiya's fears for Jalal are motivated solely by her self interest. Or Hamida's for that matter.

I would like it if Jodha some day graduated to the same level of sharpness in defending Jalal's interests in Agra, and not thinking all the time about her maayka. There was a flash of it when she spoke up against the Rat King to her family, but it was a flash in the pan.

Thank you, my dear, and your wish for a quick resolution has been fulfilled today. However, the episode itself, bar the message from Sheikh Salim Chisti, was slapdash and, as far as the black cloth explanation for the ugly body heat track goes, ludicrous in the extreme. Do take a look at my response to Kamal above!

I also agree with you about the maulvis. I had predicted this in my post about the Kali mandir visit.

Loved reading your post!!Very well analyzed! I loved Ruqs and her quick reaction too, in fact I was missing her and her quick wit that shows up as per the convenience of the CVs! Thank you for the explanations, I was confused about the power the maulvis had over the throne.

And, thank you for quoting me !!😳

Diwali, is almost over, hope you had a good one. Wishing you the best for the coming year!

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm glad the maulvis threw a fit. I cant imagine an emperors rule being smooth and problem free and this track they are showing makes us more appreciative of Jalal as a ruler and how his wives might have supported him. Dare I say, I prefer this to the crass body heat track :)
Just hoping they dont stretch it out and make it unpleasant like the MC track forcing us to turn off the tv at 8 for a few days.

What makes me surprised is that, after such an incredibly poor handling of the whole fiasco...still so many in the forum are singing praise of the CVs or of Jodha...!!!!🤢😲 Outrageous...!!
I know this was adressed to aunty, but I'm taking the liberty to answer here because I was one of them who praised the CVs...😆

Just saw the epi... I don't know about others...but I simply don't have words to describe the disappointment I am feeling right now seeing the Ostentatious handling of the whole Issue😡 (not to mention the repeat mention of a Non-existant Vadaa by both the leads😕😕) of Snow-Storm incident which was also an unwanted one in the first place...!!!!🤢
Well it has been telecast..the snow storm came..Jo acted silly and she was becoming cold..woh sab ho chuka...Jalal in his own way punished her by letting her believe what she had to and gave her an explanation...fine the black cloth thing made little sense...but, it hardly holds any consequence story-wise in comparison to other more 'consequential' parts in the story that have made littler sense..for e.g. MA's body double..and Jodha's acceptance of Talaaq!
Therefore though the physics behind the black cloth itself might not work, the actual thought behind the story line that
1) Jalal didnt touch her
2) Yet, he taught her a lesson that he doesn't go back on his word
did round up to make sense to me...

For what were ridiculous episodes (thursday and friday) the CVs have picked up the pieces and tried to do the best of what can be..a desirable culmination has been achieved (now bar the black cloth/HB loophole) I think the main basis behind the episode were all covered well - i.e. Jalal's religious policies, him standing on his word, Jodha being proved wrong in her mistrust and Ruq's growing insecurities - all were panned out well!

As for Jodha, she is Jodha...quick to take from Jalal slow to give back/accept...after 2 months, I've grown to understand this is how the CVs want to portray her as...she is self-centred..but then, who's to say that Hira Kunwari might not have been too - silly she might have not been, but self-centred yes...(HK was from a small riyaasat, but she got her way religion-wise, she did make the emperor build her a temple, she got herself a separate palace, she had the only royal surviving son - me thinks had she not been at least a little bit self-centred she wouldn't have achieved all this in that madhouse of a harem that Akbar accumulated)
So today, she didn't disappoint me much...on the contrary, when she didn't blow her lid off about the Friday episode I was quite surprised. Also, she was quite silent/resigned in the entire religion episode though she had her own thoughts on it. Only Kanhaji heard about her conversion-based complaints!

2.Incredibly unlike the emperor he was portrayed to be even a li'l while ago...more like a Love-sick indulgent Joru -ka-Ghulam or may be Majnu😒...who allows himself to be used and insulted now and again by a CHUDAIL like Jodha...😕

I beg to differ here yaar😳. Definitely not today. He behaves like that when he WANTS to mock her or let her assume that she has the upper hand...but that is basically the basis of my 'get even' post...he's got even with Jodha on her storming-out and body-heat questioning too (and Ariel brought up this point yesterday itself)...she must have been squirming wondering what had gone on...a muddled state her mind must have been in till he let the news out...

In the political discussions too, he started off with the statement that said he'd have killed the clergy for doubting his allegiance to the throne...I was quite '😲' at that remark of his...
He handles different people differently and his handling of Begum Jo will continue to be different to how he handles anyone else in the serial...
Look at how he spoke to Ruqs for example...it was a diff league altogether

However one point, the Mughal Sultanat definitely needs better investigators...Atgah Khan is proving to be highly inefficient..his list of unsolved crimes in growing longer by the day 🤣

Hope your migraine is better by tomorrow...😊

The problem is not atgha khan. The problem is after every crisis event Jalal turns to atgha khan like a pre written script when we all know he can't do squat. There are not that many villains exclusively plotting, it is either cheapo or dandham or maham. None of these characters will get caught any time soon, so poor atgha has to bear the mantle world's worst investigator for the sake of drama.
I am glad that in the show today we find adaham or maham didn't do anything. Oh there is hope another villain behind the scenes we don't know of yet, could be cheapo who knows.
On a side note does anyone else miss abdul. I also miss Bairam Khan he was a good character. From a historical point of view he had to go but since the show is fiction I wish they kept him alive. We need more political controversial characters.

Thanks Shyamala Ji😊

I try not to be harsh on anyone. 😃 In Ruqs case , I see her for who she is ...a childhood friend of Jalal and his chief Begum...all her actions are geared towards protecting her own interests and position...if you recall she has lied to Jalal in Moti-AK case and also during Bairam-Ma episode...I would hate to call that love for Jalal its more of manipulating and dominating him ! She got quite a jhatka today. 😆

As for Hamida, I absolutely love her .🤗 Jalal and Hamida share a very complex relationship...will not even try to make sense of it. I guess its something sacred between a mother and a son...inexplicable. 😃

Jalal -Jodha...I signed up for their love story and am happy to accompany them on this journey...I try not to let excess baggage bother me.😆
Please pardon the affront.🤗

Awww aap bataaiye fir..what you would have loved to see instead..😊 I love to hear other people's imaginations...

My irritation was caused exclusively by the Ja-Jo private exchange(I stated that in my post ...see the last para)...and not any other part as I have already stated ..
Oh mujhe lagaa aapko episode pasand nahin aayi thee except for letter part😕

As for CVs putting bits and pcs together , well, I think it was the same team who made the previous 2-3 epis, hence they wre not clearing someone else's mess...rather it was their own creation and hence demanded better treatment...
Point noted..well said...😊

That very fact that she did not react they way which was expected of her...shows the hypocrisy element creeping into her character...So,she wanted Hb to intervene only becoz she knew Hb is her Fan??Not becoz she had faith on HBs decision to be best for her??😲 She could have well voiced that herself given Jalaal's assurance of No-Dabaav rather than shooting from Hb's shoulder.
Jodha appeared like she was suddenly caught in this unexpected mess much like a deer-in-headlight situation...she ran in whichever direction she felt temporarily safest...here, HB...
Now she didn't step forth to offer conversion even when Shehenshah was resigning which was selfish of her no doubt and true to her character...
On the other hand, her chat with Kanha didn't strike me as odd. Being confused, she'd handed the reigns to HB but inwardly she hadn't wanted conversion...even if we concede to authority doesn't mean we have to accept it wholeheartedly...

2nd: He goes running to Jo , only to be rudely shut up by her even before he could utter a line...
Nah yaar...he keeps quite because he knows he always gets the last laugh...ALWAYS...😆

.and then delivers with resigned demeanor the insipid "Kala Libaas" dialogue stating that it was his Punishment for Jo ... (Oh Really...😕)
Wasn't him keeping mum about it all/misleading her punishment? From the beginning she's been very 'touchy' about being 'touched' so for this serial Jo, this would have to be quite a punishment - the scenarios playing in her mind would have been of all sorts!

3rd :Then again launches into explanation that he can not see her suffering hence now the explanation...
Forget Jo yaar..we needed the explanation😆also, unless he did say it how else would she realize the honourable man that he was! black cloth or blanket - whatever he used- the fact that he didnt' do anything and then that he went on to keep her in the dark so she never mistrusted him again easily was the point behind it.

4th:Leaves the chamber with a weak smile forgetting to say why he came in the 1st place...
I think he'd come to talk about the court issues but seeing how Jo had other pressing matters in her mind..he moved on too!😆

As I said, all political scenes were okay , only a bit rushed...
Everything's rushed in the serial 😳

Seems the poor chap wants everyone to think he is Macho with Jo, where as in reality...it's a different story altogether...U see, Male Egoes...😆
No...he wins against her every round...EVERY round...she might holler, scream, insult etc...but, he'd rather reserve his energy and anger for others...he uses flirtatious wit for her...imagine if like Jo he also went on a screaming match every time - Khaamosh Jo begum...Bas Jo Begum or punishing her for it etc...we wouldn't get a variety of entertaining (crass + class) to watch, would we?😛

Thnx a Ton Dear...🤗 to u too!!
Awww to you too...🤗

sukanyan's wedding track lasted at least about 4-weeks-long-drawn-out and it bored me dreadfully. the tracks now - the body-heat and Jodha-conversion-to-Islam - started and finished in 3 to 4 days.

seems like moving at light speed. i wonder what's going on.

i am not interested in the body heat track - sounded like the writers wanted to give something to the romance viewers and somebody somewhere realized the dumbness and stopped it. i hope so anyway.

i doubt jodha thought she had actually lost her virginity - there would have been signs after all. true - with all that running and horseback riding as a teen, she would prolly have torn her hymen anyway. but still there would be signs of forced entry.
i think she was just annoyed that jalal got near her and she couldn't unleash any ghrina hell 😃

but i was interested in the conversion issue - this would have been an important political and religious matter for any emperor and his continued rule over an empire of various races, religions, philosophies, that he repeatedly says he wants to unite through agreement rather than forced conversions. but i suppose this might have been too much for the writers to handle.

👏😭Shyamala I disagree that what Ruku did was exceptional...Saying that wahat Ruku did was a big thing which others begum never thought off , well they might not have the means to do it and if you want to give the credit then give it to Hoshiyaar...
I also know that in this forum HB will not be given any credit that she managed to save both JJ.😭..but she had done something wrong then whole forum would have been after her.😡..Again no one has critised how HB was being treated by MA in Amer and that also infront of Jalal...That worthless son stood there quietly...

Ruku is the most insensitive womaen...How she said "Sirf ek kalma padne ki baat hi toh Hai"😡

I am glad Jadha didn't offer her her conversion on a plate.Mazzak nahi hai religion change karna...Woh bhi ek strong personality ke liye..👏
Have a nice day Shyamala..
