Thanks and i do agree with you. Jodha is Jalaal's image in a concave mirror. She has the same fire , passion and intensity as him, but its not skilled to the craft of a true imperial yet. But thanks to Jalaal's dicey nature and Maaham's unintended teachings, she is learning it fast and its good for her. Jalaal loves grey and that is the reason he married Jodha in the first place - he saw a sign of 'negative' in her and he felt she should be with him.
The point for me wasn't why Jodha did what she did. It was the fact that she did it. It showed her take charge & understand the politics of the situation, in a way that she never has after her vivaah to Jalal.
And how cute & mysterious was Jalal's half-smirk, half-smile after he grandly declared that he is giving away the Ratanppur Durg to the Dhawalgarhs '& that Sukanya's marriage will now definitely be on the path of completion?
It had a hint of , well-played, Baaghin Begum (the little smile) .. But you've no idea do you ( the little smirk)
True that. Jalaal saw that Jodha had bowed and even though it melted 'something' in him, he wanted to play the game in his way, even if it was to please his chudail.😆
What is very exciting for me to see is that, day by day, Jodha & Jalal's relationship is deepening. They now don't even need to start fighting or verbally tussle to know what the other is thinking. So when Jodha anxiously walks into his rooms, Jalal knows exactly why she has come. And sounds pleased when he's told that he's right. She has come to know why exactly did he give away the fort that he drew his trusty sword for in a full sabhaa?
And he tells her exactly what he wanted to tell her. "Yes, you're right. I've something much more up my sleeve which I am not disclosing. You're very clever Jodha begum. But you can never know what goes on in this brain of mine. So why do you try? You just taste all the delicious mangoes I am doling out to you. Don't count the seeds. Now go. Get ready for your sister's wedding. And oh ya? You can never be as smart & as cunning as I am."

Exactly. JJ are settling into a pattern and they are getting under each-other's skin. They may not get along at all , yet , they run together like two wild horses. The challenge and baits they throw at each-other makes this marriage exciting and frustrating at the same time for both of them. And of course, JJ are played by two very good actors.
And because Jodha knows precisely what a big dhoort her pati is, she turns to give him a very puzzled look of suspicion.. And Jalal turns around to see that look. With a patent Jalal smile-smirk. . That was a very nice scene!
But it was also what Jalal tells Jodha ( and what he doesn't) that makes me believe that the reason why he gave away his prized fort, was Jodha- "toh Aap mat sochiye ki Humne yeh kyun kiyaa. Aap isse Shahenshaah tak ki baat tak seemit rakhiye."
The reason why he gives away the fort, was Jodha. And her happiness on seeing her little sister, married.
Yes, he never told her, but the reason for Jalaal's temporary and compartmentalized melting was Jodha. Even if to make her happy for a short-lived time and get Sukanya married, he made this exception just for her but its to be seen if it makes the desired impact.
But, the reasons for the pre-eminent war, will be his Shahenshaahiyat! He is an Emperor first & that is in every pore of his body.. He quickly thinks up a scheme to teach the Dhawalgarhs a strict lesson, keep his Baaghin happy, and also, teach Hindustan to never, ever try to trump the Shahenshaah. He is the SHAHENSHAH, for very valid reasons.
The Dhawalgarhs will soon understand fully, exactly why he will be called Akbar the Great, heads before anyone else does. 😃
