BOATING
Patting her back to comfort her, Jalal helps Jodha sit up in the boat - asking her to remain inconspicuous.
'Don't worry' he assures the evidently horrified Jodha
Acting practically, Jalal moves forward - his head still ducked down and starts taking the oar to ride them back ashore.
Thankfully, the Mughal sainiks make their presence known by this time and start taking down the Tribals one by one.
BACK AT CAMP
While the minister is shouting at his soldiers for having let the attack take place - despite such elaborate (evidently hidden from us????) arrangements of protection, the king traipses up to the scene. True to history, Jalal prefers that others weren't informed of this assassination attempt!
Not surprisingly, once he was alone with the minister - he orders the man to find out the mastermind behind this attack. The handsomely angry Jalal muses on who could have dared attack him despite the fact that he was at Amer - it had to be one from his own family!
SHARIFU-ADHAM
One point struck me today - had MA had a son like Sharifu instead of Adham, she'd have been much prouder. All questions that he put across to Adham made so much sense!
'They might start suspecting us now'
'It would be even more difficult to attack him now'
'Have patience Adham...one needs patience!'
'I can't believe you're MA's son'
JALAL'S TENT
Wrapped in the comfort of his red shawl, Jalal watches as his queen enters his tent - her expressions not really the most pleasant!
'Jodha Begum...look around you...you've entered the wrong tent!'
'No...I've come to the right place' she replies, sulking 'I will stay with you in this tent tonight!'
'Ya...Allah!' he gets up with the slightest hint of a tease, throwing aside his blanket 'It has to be the first time that someone's dared to order me!'
'And you can't disobey this order' she comes back - not too happy
'What do you mean?'
'Ammijaan has told me that that...'
'Oh!' he acts empathetic 'If its Ammijaan's order, then there's no way I can disobey it...if not, you'll feel bad, wouldn't you Jodha Begum?' his tone mischief-laden tone, he continues 'Anyway, I can make arrangements for your stay here...I have no qualms about sharing my tentspace with you'
She looks down worried and then suddenly grabs hold of a couch nearby 'I'll sleep here...I shall be fine'
'Oh no! If Ammijaan comes to know that I haven't offered you the bed to rest your head, she wouldn't be too happy!' his teases her 'You sleep on the bed, I'll sleep here!'
'No thank you! I don't need this obligation from you...who knows what you'd ask from me in return!'
'Fine...hopefully snakes and scorpions stay away from you tonight...because I wouldn't be able to save their lives today' he taunts her with a grin 'I'm tired. As it is, I've been saving someone's life over and over again! Good night Jodha Begum' he salutes her with a mocking smile and proceeds to his bed
Leaning against his bedstead, he shuts his eyes - in no way asleep though!
[Finally some form of flashback!] Jodha recollects the manner in which he'd saved her from the snake and then slowly stands up. She's obviously worried of the possibility of creepy crawlies haunting her at night! Walking to his bed - as slowly as possible- the hesitant queen moves his blanket from HER side of the bed and sits down.
His eyes still shut, Jalal breaks out into a grin - aware of everything that was transpiring around him. Soon after, he grabs the candlestick beside him and blows it off!
'Lord! Why is he blowing off the candle' she tells herself worriedly [And I'm having to restrain myself from commenting anything wayward here LOL😆]
'Now no point telling him anything' she concludes
While Jalal is busy smirking to himself, Jodha is busy thinking to herself
[?????? and the video was cut here... WTH ...so we're to assume they slept off...They could have at least shown them lying down. Do Jalal and Jodha sleep like horses? He was literally sitting up leaning against his bedstead and she was still sitting when the scene was cut! 😕
Why didn't they show even a few seconds in the morning after. That would have been sweetly-embarrassing too! Is this the CVs or is this my link? If this is the CVs then they REALLY don't know how to direct romance, do they?]
AMERI FESTIVITIES
Still reeling from the shock of the abruptly-cut scene prior, I am compelled to enjoy the festivities at Amer. Something about the music and the joyous atmosphere touches your heart.
Mainawati and Bharmal are at the doorstep to welcome their daughter & son-in-law - who look resplendant as a pair! While Jalal has the most cordial expressions he could sport, Jodha appears much more reserved than I'd have expected! The reason for this is possibly showed later on -
Jodha accepts the offering - a spoon of milk and drinks it, while Jalal watches her and follows suit.
What startled me was that after the troupe proceeded to leave, Jodha leaves from her mother's presence - without as much as offering a salutation. She's possibly still angry about their last meet!
JODHA-AMERI REUNION
The scene where Jodha re-enters her 'own' room and watches how everything was unchanged was very adorable!
When Mainawati joins Jodha at her room, for the first time we hear Jodha spout out all the grievances she had against her own mother. Though I didn't share Jodha's viewpoint, at least I'm happy they hugged and made up!
The sister reunion was also an absolute pleasure to watch - purely because we never get to see any such affectionate scenes in Agra! Thankfully, Sukanya has not been changed (as a few had doubted) - she is a pleasant face to adorn the screen, no doubt.
THE TOUR OF AMERI PALACE
Jalal's entry music, his replies supporting Bhagwant Das to MA when she advises the king not to step out, his admiration of the palace architecture - all of it is a treat to watch! What was beautiful was Jalal reminiscing the pathways of the palace that led to the pond where the Ghangaur festival had taken place!😳
AK is busy doing what he does best - running behind anything that resembled 'female'! He's attracted to women like a child to chocolates and his disgusted mother is constantly having to pull him back - to apply the brakes on his hormones!
MP's entry fulfilled something like what a bitter-tongued badi-saasuma's entry would be in the remainder of our desi soaps!😆 His tongue-in-cheek replies and stern expressions - my Lord!
Had to feel for the Ameri hosts though - they were more worried about the Pratap-Jalal enemity and face-off throughout the Ameri palace walk-a-thon than anything else!
PRECAP
Need I really write about it here? LOOOL
An unhappy Jodha...A bare chested muscular Jalal with his characteristic smirk... night time...in their room alone... a bowl of medicine...
You get the gist...😆
However, seeing how the creatives have been directing the romantic bits - I'm NOT going to have my hopes up! I'll wait and watch! Purely having Jalal and Jodha in one frame is not enough. The scenes need to start properly, flow through and have proper closures too CVs!
