Scenes that stood out to me today
Jodha
1) Jodha crying in front of Kanha was heart-touching 'When the other daasis were not prepared to accompany me to Agra, Mothi was the only one who came along to ensure my protection'
2) When Salima's son comes to Jodha asking for his own 'farmaans', she sees it as a sign from Kanha himself - a small boy having given her the idea to use her 'farmaan' as a request for Mothi's pardon!
In the court
3) I think this is the first time Jodha has broken her aristocratic decency by barging into a court...however, it makes sense since any delay and Mothi'd be dead!
4) Jalal replied to Jodha's request to free Mothi with his high & mighty 'My word is the final decree' ...he didn't realize Jodha'd bring up the very same statement to ensnare him by reminding him of his written promise/gift to her
[Grrr the videos I've watched don't seem to have the recording after this...they're all cut for a minute or so...:(I'm guessing he's forced to unwillingly concede since he has no other go]
5) But we're in for a visual treat after when all of a sudden Jalal grabs Jodha towards him. Drawing her close to him, he reminds her as he lustfully studies her averted gazes 'Yes you're right Shehenshah's words are indeed the final decree'
MA -Jodha
6) MA -Jodha conversation...well all of it was power-packed...but what stood out was how MA tells Jodha that she neither had the power of friendship that Ruqs has..nor the beauty of Ruksaar begum...and not even the talent that Nazeema has...I was 😲
Besides, MA knows very well the relationship between Jodha and Jalal - be it inside the bedroom or outside!!!😲
MA tells Jodha 'You possess all this ego and power only because Jalal has not had the privilege of having you yet...once he does, you'll be just like the rest of the begums in the harem!'
Ruqs
7) When Ruqs is reminded by the begums how different Jodha is from the rest of them...that even her 'farmaan' is massively different from what Ruqaiyya had previously demanded [apparently Ruqs had previously asked for Jalal's undivided attention for 100 days]
Duel
8) Didn't realize the sword duel was meant to be today 😲
Paridhi's skills with the sword - we know RT is proficient...but PS stood against him quite decently (even though a stunt or two might have required a body double!)
9) And yesss it made sense that Jalal identified her INSTANTLY...lol
'Didn't know you were as good with the sword as you are with a chess-piece in your hand' Jalal says
'A warrior is supposed to be as skilled with strategy as she is with the sword' Jodha replies
The entire scene has been taken very well...Jalal finds the whole duel amusing while for Jodha its a matter of defeat or victory...he wants to dismiss her offensives but she is more skilled than he thought her to be...a well shot sequence...👏
[I didn't realize Ruqs was watching all of it...anyway she misses out the interesting bits lol]
10) Finally, the breeze sways...they're breathless...Jalal removes the veil from her face and is mesmerized...that scene is spectacular...However, Jalal studying Jodha was not about 'lust' as we all thought...well maybe a bit...but it was because he couldn't understand her...He asks her why had she used up a 'Royal boon' to free her slave when she could have used it FOR ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN...
'Why didn't you ask for my head? Why didn't you ask for your freedom...you lost your opportunity' he questions
She doesn't know what to say...😳
She pushes him away...the scene following that when her hair flies open is amazing too...
Beautiful episode...
I was hoping for more drama abt the Mothi Bai case...but that was all wrapped up with a farmaan! So no CID drama or Nancy Drew Jodha there...but scintillating chemistry definitely abound...
