Nor did they protest when the colourised version of Mughal-e-Azam came out 10 years ago, with Jodhabai being shown as the Empress and the mother of Salim.
But as I have clarified on other threads. there is no need to fret about the protests. They are apparently so insignificant that none of the major dailies has done even one small piece on them all of last week, after that one report about the Ambala demos.

It's a Rajshiri classic.😳Even here, Jodha and Akbar love story is depicted beautifully even though it might be short. You know what a sad a reality. Even Jodha name is used here, and a short love story is shown between Akbar and Jodha. Whenever this show came out , no one protest but they are doing it now.🥱😆
