I didn't say ignore, but I feel this version of Jalal's life is exaggerated. I mean just count the number of women. Before Jodha, he had 2 wives. I have no idea how many mistresses he had, and I have not seen that information when I researched his life. But the number of women on this show feels like a little too much to me. Besides, I doubt Jalal's wives would mix with his mistresses. This show makes it seem as if his mistresses have the same right as his wives. And Ruqaiya, his wife, keeps proving to others that she is the most important but why would she have to prove anything to mistresses? She is above any mistress on any given day just by being his wife. Maybe I am lacking an understanding of the Mughal empire, but in most empires in history wife trumps mistress. And even if Fareeda was carrying Jalal's child, it would be considered a bas***d right. Since they aren't married.
Besides, the cleanliness of the show was what I absolutely loved. I don't really find such movies anymore which scream innocence. It was just so refreshing. There's nothing wrong with shows that aren't exactly innocent- heck most my favorite shows are far from innocent, Game of Thrones anyone- but it's a nice change sometimes.
Also, I don't mind more than one women in other shows, but when you claim eternal love...I can't digest it. (Actually scratch that...I dont think even in other shows I like more than one woman. Most shows I watch are American or British and there never are 2 or more wives in these shows.) I cannot understand how you are supposed to love only one and yet have so many women. Women who have the same right as your supposed one and true love. Does not make any sense to me. Like I said call me a romantic.
P.S. I think I will get used to it though. I already dont feel disgusted by the women...thats a good sign. But it still doesn't change that I dont like it.
