🤗.... I know. Its your type. Solid characters like Jalaal, Mahamanga, Ruqaiya, Jodha, Bairam and the dense relationships. They all are grey except Jodha - so yes, you surely are relishing this one.😳

😎 It really is my type 😆

All the characters are sketched really well. From the soft spoken yet fierce Suryabhan, the charming sassy Raquiya, ofc the great, oozing with authority Jalal and the brave, strong Jodha.

I love characters that are engaging.

Will you post here? 😳

True. But I have a small problem. As much as i love the portrayal of the regal, stunning and ruthless Mughals with their kohedl-eyes and head-on aggression, I am very disappointed by the casting and portrayal of Rajputs . Raja Bharmal looks like a Halwaai, Rani Mainaawati has no arrogance or aura of a Rajput queen, Suryabhan is an excuse in the name of a Rajput king. Only Jodha and Soojamal work for me. I mean - you are talking about Rajputs here - the supreme warrior community of Hindus - "talwaar se tilak karne waale log' as they are called. Its not reflecting in the show at all. Till now.

I find Mahamanga as one of the bravest and most aggressive women in Mughal history - she was grey but she was insanely courageous and obsessed with Jalaal, She felt that she owned Jalaal because she kept him alive. I want to see how she plays out between Ruqaiya and Jodha - how she slowly loses control over Jalaal.

Above all, i know that Ruqaiya will always be Jalaal's Gatti, his best friend, if not his beloved ladylove. But what is it that Jalaal feels for Jodha? Lust? Passion? Fixation? History speculates because Jodha was a political commodity that Jalaal bought- nobody knows their story and i want to see what this creative team does to give the audience a version where Jodha is proven to be Jalaal's soulmate and pave the way for Akbar.

I think I will try and post now and then. 😆

@VH- Absolutely. It seems even mocking to a certain extent. Esp when they are showing their Mughal counterparts in a much more extravagant manner.

I think they want to show that the Rajputs lost because they were weaker than the Mughal army. And the creative's have extended and stretched the wedge to the point of mockery.

But I am confused, in the movie the Amer formed an alliance with Akbar because they thought it was their only option. I wonder which is the true version.

Mahamanga really is interesting. She wants to own Akbar more than guide him. Very hard to place her in a good or evil definitive.

It is at the end of the day fiction and really who doesn't love a story which defies religion, over comes hate, and takes place in a palace? 😆

I look forward.

Frankly, what we read and hear is not ORIGINAL history. Most historians of those times distorted facts to either appease their mentor kings , or else to hide the dark side of their rule. I mean, who wants to look bad in recorded history. We only have accounts handed down generations. Actual facts , in all probability, went into burial with those times.

Rajputs lost to Mughals because of their internal aggressive conflicts and politics. There were heroes like Rana Saangha, Maharana Pratap and others , but there was no dearth of selfish Iagos either. Anyway, the popular theory is that since Raja Bharmal chose to go in for a political alliance with Akbar by marrying Jodha to him - the Rajputana snapped ties with Amer at that time. For Rajputs, death was preferable than to even stand next to a Mughal. Rajput women are the biggest example of honour-salvation who did 'Jauhar' to avoid any Mughal from even touching them. In this show, its a complete mockery - Rajputs don't even talk like Rajputs here.

Mahamanga is grey in this version of Akbar's life. And I love Ashwini's portrayal of her- what an artist and what a voice.

Yep, we are here for a fictitious love story 'coz we will never know the actual saga of Akbar and Jehangir's Mom - Jodha.

But together the Rajputs could have over thrown any army with their might. Alas. Their selfish ideals made them lose sight of the bigger picture.

Yes that's the story I've heard as well. And that Suryabhan will break ties rather than dying in war. In any case I reckon this adds to the drama factor.

VH- We found another play ground 😆

Their interaction was very ok for me.Not like husband and wife at all.Even Ruquaiya had said she ruled Jalal's mind and even thinks he has no heart. One that is perceived to not have to heart is perceived as one that cannot love.
This is a drama series.Ekta has the liberty to change the scripts and do whatever she feels right because of her disclaimer. She may take parts of history and add her own spices to it so JA wont be a boring show just based on political dominance. It will be a love story mixed with the clashes of religion and the difference of conquering.
With that being said EK knows family wont like watching Jalal with these other woman as Jodha is the lead.It history but EK doesnt have to show alot of it and make ppl like my grandma disgusted with Jalal's polygamous relationships.Even thought its a part of history that cant be changed EK can atleast turn her attention to something else and not risk losing viewers who watch for drama.
I got this quote from an article in which Ekta Kapoor said ''I want to show the story of an power-crazed, cruel king whom love made him a better ruler,"

I felt the same while watching their conversation, they are so cute together. It breaks my heart to think that in future, she might turn negative, and i might have to hoot for Jodha and Akbar...
