Jokes apart, I am delighted and not a little touched. Thank you, my dear.

Jalal is going to be an utterly fascinating character, and we are all going to enjoy ourselves a lot going along with him on his journey of self-discovery. And yes, Rajat is a truly impressive actor, and even my mother, who is an extremely stern critic, is greatly pleased with him. He is so young, and I am sure he has a long and successful career ahead of him.

He is so good here that it is tough to pick the scene one likes best, apart from the stand out one with his mother. When he looks up at Jodha in the palki, it is such an open, uninhibited gaze, with a kind of sudden sense of wonder but no awe, that only a king, with a complete sense of entitlement, would have looked a princess like that.

PS: Disha, not 'lust', but 'desire'. Lust is an unpleasant word, that has nothing positive about it, and I would not use it for Jalal.

Ma'am,trust me,everyone is really honoured by your presence here

Oh your mother as well? 😃 Im sure if Mr.Tokas gets to know about this,he would be very honoured

There was another member who spoke of her grandmother some days back,it seems her grandmother said that he is so good(looks and acting wise),that they couldn't possibly find a girl who could match him 😆

'desire' .that's the apt word!point noted ma'am

On a different note,i had spoken of another story, which i would like to bring up.

we agree that Jalal is a highly intellectual character, but when i think of akbar, immediately the name which comes to my mind is birbal 😆 what are your views about him?I am hoping that they would include birbal in the show, because whatever i have read of him, a very interesting man!

Thank you, my dear, I am so glad it went down so well with you.

As for Jodha, she would need a separate post, but she is a more balanced and totally non-conflicted character, if there is such a word. She is so sure of her principles that she will never have any doubt about the right course of action. This shows in the way she reacts to the painting of her father, and even more strongly when Abdul is to be executed. She will never flinch from what she feels is the right path, no matter how tough it is to tread, and she will not let anyone she cares for stray from that path either.

Jalal is going to find out pretty soon that his intoxicatingly lovely bibi is more like a hedgehog than a velvet pillow!😉But in her, he will at last find someone who loves him and cares for him for himself, and not for what she can get out of him. He is very badly emotionally deprived, and she will be his haven of calm.

At the same time, Jodha as a character, precisely because she is so straight and uncomplicated in her moral strength, is simpler and less of a puzzle than the conflicted, difficult, turbulent Jalal. I personally prefer difficult, complex, grey characters, but that is a personal preference.

even before i read it,i knew it would be a GREAT post.and you surpassed my expectations. i have no words to describe the plethora of emotions i felt while reading this piece of art. the language, the diction the lucidity and above all the thought behind it enamors the reader's mind, sweeping her into a world, one of its kind👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
the second most beautiful aspect of the writing is the deep psycho-analytical perspective adopted to illustrate the mind of a king who continues to remain an enigma.many would question what is so enigmatic about it? he was a benevolent king.he did this that and won this battle .lost these.and one fine day died.about his wives? well again they were all political alliances.atleast the chapter of history which ,doubtful though it may be,does mention about some marriage with some1 named jodha bai.but isnt it as though there has always been an attempt to over simplify these characters? an over zealous endevour to compartmentalize an alliance as JUST political?
unfortunately or fortunately indian history does not have a freud or jung to tell us of the deeper layers of the psychic of a boy king who had all that every1 wanted yet somewhere nothing which could mean anything TO HIM.
why? my mind asks would a mughal king bread on the principles of brutality become benevolent? what thought would lead him to banish a tax on hindu's going on pilgrimage? and the one thought that were all these marriages ONLY MEANT an enhancement of his political achievements? why? in our wishes to see him great must we forget that he was equally human? if we become diplomatic enough to gouge him in the contours of humanity then 2, our curious mind seeks to know more.how was his daily life? WHAT HE THOUGHT? history in its meticulous accounts about his official daily routine, tell us NOTHING OF those little moments he may have spent with jodha?
i know i started with something different but your work was SOOO enriching that it brought out these queries and grievances out of my mind.
i THANK YOU from the core of my heart👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 that you gave us such a beautiful piece which was not only a readers delight but a window to every heart which wished to hear those wispers which only sensitive minds like you can bring out from the Rowling of loud "histories"👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

@Shyamala B. Cowsik, wht an excellent post!!! each & evry word of urs is so perfect. yes noone is perfect, in fact no one in the tele industry is perfect. rajat is also not perfect, but similarly other actors in this show r not also perfect(no offence). but evryone r putting their best effort. yes the show is about 20yr old akbar, so RT is absolutely perfect for the role & 2ndly, noone knows tht whether akbar was 6ft. or 5ft. so how can anyone judge anybody on the basis of height??? i agree maybe expectations from rajat r very high, but then its the duty of the creatives to use his talent perfectly. really hats off to u. even i had becum ur fan madam.👏

Beautiful beautiful post. I did not see rajat act before this show myself. And nobody could have done the role of Akbar better. He is a beautiful variation of Ekta's most wonderfully nuanced anti-hero Thakur Digvijay Singh. And he is just as good. And yes, I love you. Marry me or something. 😆
