Dear Pratsy,

Perhaps they were not even seeing their comments as bashing him. It could also be that expectations of him are very high, which is of course a compliment, and then that they judged his performance on the basis of how an ordinary young man would behave, and not how an Emperor would behave. It is the last point that I have tried to clarify, and I am so glad that you liked it.

My dear Disha,

It is a good thing that I am of advanced years and have my head fixed firmly on my shoulders, for otherwise, such extravagant praise might make it swell up and float clean away like a balloon!😉
Jokes apart, I am delighted and not a little touched. Thank you, my dear.

Jalal is going to be an utterly fascinating character, and we are all going to enjoy ourselves a lot going along with him on his journey of self-discovery. And yes, Rajat is a truly impressive actor, and even my mother, who is an extremely stern critic, is greatly pleased with him. He is so young, and I am sure he has a long and successful career ahead of him.

He is so good here that it is tough to pick the scene one likes best, apart from the stand out one with his mother. When he looks up at Jodha in the palki, it is such an open, uninhibited gaze, with a kind of sudden sense of wonder but no awe, that only a king, with a complete sense of entitlement, would have looked a princess like that.

PS: Disha, not 'lust', but 'desire'. Lust is an unpleasant word, that has nothing positive about it, and I would not use it for Jalal.

I just replied to you in another thread 😆

trust me,from this day on,you wont find a bigger follower of yours, other than me!

You just indirectly sorted out a major dispute here, where the actor was being blamed for no reason at all!

All the complaints against him,you simply negated them in an unbiased way.

My respect for you has simply increased! In the DKDM forum,i was more or less a silent reader of ur posts, although a few times i might have posted my views there 😆

I dont know if it even makes any sense, considering the only sort of interaction i have had with you is through the internet, but somehow i see you as my guru.someone who keeps facts in front of me and then lets me decide what is right and wrong.

As far as the show goes,i find Jalal's character very intriguing. The complexity of his mind is something which appeals to me the most!

I dont understand, why people felt Rajat was too young to play the character, because the stories they are covering in the show, akbar is supposed to be about 19-20,so he fits just perfectly.

honeslty speaking, although i have seen Rajat in another historical previously,i feel his acting has been better here, considering the fact that Jalal is partially negative here and negative characters are not easy to play!

His he is capable of showing multiple shades within a gap of few seconds and is equally good in all.

anger in the stable scene with abdul, amusement in the tent scene with sharifuddin and softer expressions seeing jodha!

And not to forget, the scene where he sees abdul being dragged,it was a quick transition from lust to pure anger!

About the eyes,i haven't seen any eyes being so expressive! 👏

I have told this before as well,Jalal is all about the mind games. He is a very intellectual character. He doesn't shout,he doesn't kill,he is not very physical(not that he cant, its just taht he need not!),but he attacks with his mind!

And to portray such a character,Rajat's eyes do wonders!👏 So,he is just doing a great job.

I want to know, who developed the characters in the show.I have a grown a special liking for Jalal and even for a few other characters like Abdul

Thank you, shumna, I am so glad that you understood it as it should be understood. Yes, a lot of fascinating stuff lies ahead, as these two equally strong-headed and obstinate individuals clash repeatedly. I can't wait for it!
