He also considers their marriage valid .But till now he doesnt know about Jhanak's feelings ( forget the eye expressions) so he would never pressurise her .

And to help her openly and keep the family shut he has declared that their marriage is full and complete.

He will get her career and then may be will wait for Jhanak' s part .

Rewatched the episode. I strongly feel that Ani brought up the wedding topic to distract Jhanak. He is openly supporting her and making arrangements to rent an apartment.. he is in no mood to listen to anyone.. even Shubho realized that and agreed for her to stay.. and bam! he diverts the topic, Jhanak is stumped, Ani’s mission accomplished.. hence the smirk

And he could get expression also of her , on he getting married , smart move .
