Since this is a popularity discussion and I am watching the show live ...they just declared Sanaya was the highest vote getter .

Faisal won by more votes right? So he may not be more popular than SI as some arguments are suggesting but he got the highest marks dancing and enough votes, maybe more in the final, to take the trophy. Does popularity need to come into this?

Btw correct me if I am wrong, due to MID voting, the number of votes is not equal to the number of fans as 1 vote does not equal 1 fan. You could have 1000 votes but that might mean either 1000 fans voted once or 1 person voted 1000 times. In this case if a contestant gets 5000 votes that means they either have 5000 different fans voting once or 5 fans voting 1000 times each. So in this case the former is more popular than the latter right? Before I joined the forum and IF, I did not realise MID voting existed for JDJ. But that was nave on my part. In this case based on polls and the ability to introduce MIDs, any poll will not reflect the true number of individual different fans.

The show is still on and I think that's how it must be . On the first act Sanaya was the lowest scorer ie 37 and the other 3 were 40 and she was declared the first finalist based on getting the highest votes .
