I had to make a separate topic today to put down my thoughts.
I'll start with Sanaya n Jai since I have lots to say about them.
Yesterday's act...DISAPPOINTING!
I mean, what was that? Was it supposed to be funny or was it supposed to be horrific? We are not on comedy Nights bachao yaar, Jai completely mucked up the choreography...like Shahid said, it was funny because it seemed caricature-ish, I could not make head or tail out of what they were trying to do.
No dancing, only hair flapping and maniacal laughter is not acceptable at this stage of the competition.
Now, coming to the TKT act, i must say how well DD n SI gel well together...the parts that I enjoyed the most were those 2 dancing together without a care in the world minus Jai...very sloppy choreography n concept Jai...like really? Couldn't he come up with something more imaginative/original? I'm big time disappointed in him this week. The end seemed kinda messy n incomplete and this act did not do justice to either DD or SI. The songs too were meh...at least they could have done better in THAT department.I was really amazed at what a fine dancer DD has become over the years though.
That AV though...was everything! ❤️ These 2 are really genuine n lovely people and I'm so glad to see 2 of the best actors of the tv industry being such great pals.
Shamita:
She is a good performer and she knows that but I find her really over-confident in the kind of steps she does or her overall attitude. She did well, but definitely neither of her acts warranted a 39 or 40. Yesterday, she was just like she has been in all her acts and today she actually forgot a couple of steps in the middle and was looking at sanjeeda for support. The trio act was no doubt beautiful n sassy but it was due to Sanjeeda n not shamita. I felt that she was clumsy in many parts and well the judges'reactions...let's not even go there.
PS- Really really horrible choice of song. But Sanjeeda is ❤️
Mohit:
He was generally on the same level yesterday as well as today. His Govinda act was entertaining and all but I felt it lacked proper dancing. Ok, I understand that the 90s were not too famous for shimmies, splits and jazz but what is the point of keeping a theme where one is appreciated for only aping certain things n not put in their own interpretation?
His TKT act had a lot of energy and it seemed similar to the numerous awards shows that hope to rope in numbers by making semi-naked men jump around on stage. These 2 are certainly good to look at and Marischa very cleverly designed the act such that all of the female species succumb to the hormonal teenage behaviour like malaika clearly exhibited.. the best parts were the transitions n lifts with bhavna though, she is spectacular!
And Gautam, what's with the silly pout and the wannabe attitude man? Just tone it down a bit...u are a looker but your smug attitude is downright annoying. Just a reminder, most ladies prefer their partners to have a touch of humility, arrogance is unbecoming.
Anita:
Sanam is a real clever guy...he knows to play to Anita's strengths and although the 90s tadka was rather cliched in terms of concept, it oddly worked because of the charm that those 2 put in. These 2 are Sanam knows just how to highlight the pluses and negate the minuses. Anita is a decent performer, i wish she had come much earlier, it would have been such a treat to watch her grow as a performer. She has a certain grace in her which shows in her acts.
As for the TKT act...well, it was apparent that Vishal isn't much of a dancer. I don't know why Rangeela brought him as Anita's tadka...he was clearly the weak link. I loved the choreography but unfortunately neither Anita nor Vishal, him especially, were able to execute it with perfection. Those lifts were meant for real dancers, if u know what I mean.
Oh. and I understand why Lauren might have a secret crush on Sanam, i too just look at him when he is there on stage but can she plz tone down d blushing n all a little?
Faisal:
Damn, this guy! What can he not do? The semi-classical act was so heartening to see especially since it was coming from a guy. The mudras, the postures, he had it all down pat and I'm very very impressed. Those eyebrow movements were just wow!
The TKT act was really entertaining. I think having Akshat on stage really made the other 2 just let go and it was a smashing performance. I won't lie, I find Akshat grossly overrated, too irritating and damn precocious for his age, but having him seemed like a plus for Faisal and Vaishnavi. If yesterday, I had been watching only Faisal, today for me it was Vaishnavi.
These 2 deserve to be in the finale and I'm so glad that they got the ticket. It would have been grossly unfair if they hadn't.
PS- That AV though, with the 3 of them...so cute! I know that it's mostly staged but Faisal's reactions were hilarious!😆
