After almost five years of dating and being talked about for their enviable compatibility, Sanaya Irani has started having difficulty understanding her boyfriend, Mohit Sehgal.
Reason: the Punjabi munda has undergone a drastic transformation in reel life. The actor is all set to shed his urban hero image to play a character from UP in his latest show 'Sarojini'. And his efforts to perfect the UP dialect and get the nuances right, may be spilling over in his personal life too.
The actor hasn't spared even his girlfriend and speaks to her in that dialect. Mohit laughs, "Sanaya and my friends find it difficult to understand it. They ask me if something is wrong with me. But I believe, it's a good sign as I am getting to understand the character better."
By his own admission, getting the dialect right wasn't easy for him. "Every district in UP has its own flavour and tone. Since my character is from Pratapgarh, I am working hard to get the peculiar tone," he says.
Mohit will be seen in flashy and loud outfits in the show.
