Okay I am not creating this thread to instigate any fans of Drashti or what not. But her winning the show clearly indicates that the channel Colors had already predetermined that they would make the face of Colors, Madhubala, win the show at any cost. I've been watching Jhalak since the start and although I give Drashti a lot of credit for showcasing an immense dance talent despite being a non dancer, she def did not deserve the winning title in my honest opinion. We all would say Lauren would have been the most deserving, but even she would not have been the right candidate to win as she already is a professional dancer and let's face it, an international celeb can't win in India. The kids are also at a professional level. So that leaves Shaan. Shaan has been the most consistent performer from the beginning. He def deserved to win. I'm immensely disappointed at the results, but at the same time I am not surprised. This show was rigged from the beginning.
Well anyways congrats Drashti, Salman, and their fans. Enjoy the limelight for a few days.
I respectfully disagree with your choice of the non-dancers, Shaan made mistakes by forgetting his steps compared to Drashti who never did that, even if you listen to the judges Madhuri said I hope he doesn't forget his steps, Kurta Phad (tearing clothes act) forgot his steps and in the Semi-Final relay dance forgot his steps and even fell over at the end that was not part of the routine, he was too gimmicky throughout the season for me, be a lion, be this and that, without concentrating on dancing steps and wow factor in his performances it got better when Marishcha was substituted for Sneha a bit of wow factor was injected with the aerial act but thereafter again flat performances no wow ...all all the 4 he is the only one to forget his steps and in the Semi to lift up his hand to say yes I came last because of my mistakes in the relay dance. So he knew even when they were announcing in the finale, he was mouthing his name "Shaan" as the 4th place person...if you watch them as you are announcing you will see, and it's not because he felt he was undeserving to be coming out 4th it's because he knew of the 4 standing there he was 4th...he even said the people that were eliminated before him deserve the final place and not him, I think he meant Mukti and Sana perhaps because when Mukti was eliminated we saw how remorseful Shaan was went to Mukti realising he was not as good as her, but fair is fair I felt as the people at home wanted him to be in the final and not Mukti, that's how they voted. Look I feel the public vote is the one that decides the winner eventually and not the it being a fixed vote decision not it's not rigged, it's independently verified and Drashti had the largest votes all season, she broke the history records apparently, and those votes were counted independently.
Kids are salsa champions and concentrated in most of their routines on Salsa with numerous lifts which are not allowed in competition on the BBC show, even though the judges told them that they should limit the lifts to 2 or 3 lifts they didn't want to listen, the audience at home fathers were telling their daughters "because of her weight it's easier for that boy at 13 years old bigger then her to carry her and do these lifts with huge wow factor but all the other guys in the other pairs are unable to do the same with their partners" So you see if teenage girls are voting for Drashti and perhaps the parents and little kids are voting for the kids, if they see the Kids in this competition show repetitive lifts and same Salsa again and again it gets boring, I was actually thinking same old same old, even though they were dangerous lifts there because there was no variety with them, always the same dance form and never listening when the judges tell them to cut out the excessive lifts. Had they shown more floor work rather than only lifts I feel they could have won over more people at home to them.
If you compare the Kids to Drashti we see Drashti showed more variety in different routines and concepts then the kids. If we compare Drashti to Shaan we see she didn't forget her steps that Shaan did, also she didn't focus her energy on gimmicks of being a lion, vampire etc, and her routines had more wow factor then Shaans. The fight for the win was really between these two, Drashti and Shaan as the non-dancers showing a journey from non dancer to dancer, this concept was started by the BBC and it is a BBC show still, and we see Shaan say that in his interview before the final, he knew this, similarly Karan Johar told Shaan this in the Semi-Final and again Karan Johar told this to Siddharth Shukla when he was eliminated, I guess TM you were not listening.
Lauren you rightly pointed out her cons.
