in india its Jhalak Dikhlaja show us your skills !!
it wasnt written anywhere that "dancers" werent allowed !!
you thought that "dancers" like Lauren and the kids have nothing to do in the show, and here i was thinking that Jhalak is not "Come i'll teach you how to dance" kind of show, i mean you should show what you can do :)

Hi everyone,

I've been following this forum really quietly but I am definitely a HUGE fan of this show (I've only seen this season) and I noticed something really strange. This show is created for non-dancers ("dancing with the stars") then why are professional dancers allowed to participate?? PLEASE don't misunderstand me, BUT participants like Lauren and Shonali & Sumant are obviously going to get AMAZING scores if they're already trained dancers. Whereas, contestants like Shaan, Sana & Drashti started from the bottom! I love all the contestants but this is clearly not fair!!

**SORRY if similar topics have already been posted!
***Please comment & share your opinions! ;)

I'm sure you are a HUGE FAN as you mentioned 😆 Otherwise, you wouldn't have opened this topic once again. 😆 Sorry I forgot the count, how many more were opened.

Who says you it's for non dancers??

Ohh, the way, Lauren danced Bharat Natyam, she is actually a non dancer once you come to Indian classical. And she did it so nice. At least got to see some dance in the show. Much better than seeing choreos, keeping the non dancers lifted in different innovative ways, to avoid dancing😆

The show IS for non-dancers.
Check-out Karan Johar's words to Siddharth when he was eliminated, he clearly stated the show is for non-dancers. Unless you guys Kjo also doesn't know the format of the show? LOL

why not just directly say that you don't think lauren should be on the show... just because she is better than others doesn't mean that she shouldn't be on the show!

👏 I think you've hit the nail on the head!

I don't think the problem is with trained vs. untrained dancer. If Lauren was out in the first few weeks, no one would have batted an eyelash at this time. But Lauren, with her sweet personality and honest persona, has now shown that she is tough competition to others, is an amazing dancer (and person!) and is a surefire Finale contestant; hence, everyone is cribbing.

For a dance reality show, there are certain ingredients. Popularity (so that people vote and the channel makes money), attractive persona (so that people actually watch the show, instead of merely voting - and the channel makes money), and DANCE (so that the show is memorable and competitive to the other shows currently on TV)! If we take out the trained dancers (Lauren, kids and Mukti - I'm sorry but I fail to agree that she is "untrained"), we are left with a show that only a certain crowd would watch. With these contestants being in the show, Jhalak is getting exposure not only from India but from all around the world. It is a very smart decision made by the channel.
If Lauren manages to garner enough votes to win this season, I would commend the public for voting honestly for the contestant who showed the most consistent dances, the best (and most memorable) performances in the history of Jhalak, and for not getting swayed by the horrible and vile comments written on the colors website and other social media about someone who has not done anything wrong to them or their favorite contestant. Sorry to say, but the personal comments are extremely unnecessary and in bad taste.

I think it's high time that everyone accept once and for all that Lauren is the best dancer (with the kids being very close - but not "the best" due the use of repetitive lifts) and Drashti (or Shaan) have the highest vote banks. If we say that the show is not for non-dancers, then the show is also not for celebs who obviously have massive fan followings. Only that would make it "fair" for all contestants.

Why o Why do we need to dig deep whether it's for dancer or non-dancer . If it's for non-dancer then what qualities they must possess, if it's for dancer then how many exact dance forms should they know. WHY???
What's the exact definition of non-dancer? For me, Ppl who can't dance to save their life and lacks complete beat and rhythm in their body. Such as, Suresh, Shrikant and too some extent Sid. For me they are non-dancers.
Sana , Drashti, shaan are dancers, but NOT trained dancers. They definitely have rhythm, beat and natural flow in their body to move around.
Lauren, The Kids and Mukti are trained dancer but that doesn't mean they are trained in all forms. They are trained in one certain form of their speciality.
Now, TM, it's upto you and decide for yourself.
In fact, I am NOt at all bothered by who is dancer, non dancer, half dancer, full dancer , trained dancer, cute dancer, patriotic dancer, devoted dancer or any kind of dancers for that matter. My numro uno reason to watch this show is DANCE. That's all I care, not who it is coming from and putting that awesome magical art form in a certain category. If I get to watch fantastic performances no matter who is performing I am not at all bothered about the format neither was I ever. I just replied to this thread to put forth my own query and hoping that some enlightened one who knows will answer and finish this topic for once and all.
Here's my suggestion for all "disturbed (Disturbed by the confusion of JDJ format) viewers":
Keep calm and enjoy the show
Have fun

I thought we had cleared it out that JDJ is for celebrities, doesn't matter trained or untrained. So why keep repeating the same old topic?

Honestly, don't you guys get bored talking about this rinse-and-repeat topic?

Why can't we have topics like "What kinky movies does KJo have in his DVD rack?" 😆

Its boring topic but still writing that this kind of game dont make any sence to me. it should be like bring all proffesional dancers or bring totally untrained dance celebrities or bring all average dancers ...and I think Shaan, and drashti are victims(just talking abt top 5). except them rest 3 are trained ... its same as if we compare Shaan and other contestants in singing...shaan will obviously sing better than others ... so for me its totally unfair game...and how can 1justify that judging a singer and a professional dancer on same parameters is a fair game...
