Right from the first season there was Shveta Salve, who was a trained dancer, and then this trend continue and thru-out the years we saw many trained dancers (Sushant, Isha Sharvani, Lauren etc)
The reason they do this is because if they took upon 11-12 complete non-dancers, then who would push the envelope? Who would give those really strong performances. So I understand the "need" for the professional dancer in Jhalak, its to maintain the so called high standard of the show and churn out strong performances.
But the problem is, this season...its a little too much as we have 3 of them. There is Lauren, Mukti and the Kids. Almost half of the remaining contestants are trained dancers. Like Salman mentioned Jhalak is made for people like Shaan and Siddharth who are complete non-dancers.
On that basis, I really think At least 2 of the trained dancers need to be eliminated asap and I think Mukti and the kids should really go as wonderful as they are.

agreed...jhalak is for the celebrities and not trained dancers...😊

There is some good discusion happening in this thread - members are requested to stop the personal remarks and digs at one another and calling each other names - if this continues from this point this thread will get closed and further action taken against the members who continue this.

There are many posts on the professional dancers in Jhalak.
Last year there was Isha who was professional but no one was against his presence in Jhalak because she had "Salman",but this year they all say that mukti, kids, lauren should not be the Jhalak.
Also mukti hasn't got a famous and innovative choreographer.
It's "dancing with stars" and it is not specified anywhere that professional dancers can not participate.
So plz stop it with these professionals and non-dancers.😊

Personally, in the earlier seasons, yes like you said, there was trained dancers like Shweta Salve and Sushant Singh Rajput. BUT the difference between them and people like Lauren and Mukti is the fact that their prominent occupation was something else. In the case of Shweta and Sushant, they used to act day and night. Acting came before dancing. So yeah sure, they might've been trained dancers, but they didn't practise dancing all the time. Especially Shweta. I remember when Shweta first participated, she was extremely popular, working in MANY shows. TV actors, as we've seen with Drashti this season, are usually consumed by their shows. They don't have much time to dedicate toward dancing for fun or something, and as a result they can't really be considered professionals.

BUT, Lauren and Mukti do! Their occupation is dancing. They practise it day and night, before they even came on JDJ. If anything, they can be compared to the cheoreographers because thats what they all do for a living, dance. Most of their time is spent practising dancing.

And having them (professional dancers who dance for a living= crazy good dancers) with people who don't dance (like Sid) and with trained dancers (who are trained but don't practise constantly, thereby keeping them from being professionals like Shweta), is completely unfair. Remember, practise makes perfect and for the professionals who already practise dancing 24/7, competing with them is super unfair. THATS my main issue with having Lauren and Mukti as serious contestants.

Nice post!

Great to know that there are some sensible people out here

Dignity? Lmao! Look at how desperate you are to prove your point hahah you are quoting your own post, who does that. At least I'm not talking to myself lol, I stopped replying long ago and you're still on this topic as if your going to get some kind of prize at the end of it.

Why the hell are you overreacting so much? It's just a topic in a forum everyone has the right to state their opinion.

It will actually be an insult to dogs if i compare them to you. You need serious help and lessons in English. Don't reply to me again because I have no interest talking to unstable and psychotic people like you.

The problem comes when a non-dancer is being compared with a dancer !!
But this should not be treated as an excuse ! Afterall a ompettion is a competition

I dnt have any problem with the proffesional dancers...As much as i can see they just raise the standard of the show ... and then end up not winning ! Ppl like sushant isha and now lauren ...for all of them this is a platform to showcase what they can do ... and for non dancers its a platform to show that apart from their profession they can be a good dancer as well and thats wat salman wanted to say !

He got trained dancers last season and i really din wanted any more dancer as his partner so im really happy with his pairing with drashti ...she is hardworking ..a quick learner and versatile as well !

and those who are saying nobdy had problem with isha ...pls open jdj 5 forum !
