Dance, grace.. perceptions can be easily influenced.. not everyone out there is a dancing guru..

also, it woul dbe naive to believe dancing is the only factor that goes into selecting and supporting candidates.. otherwise you wouldn't need all the unneccessary drama in the first place..

and be this any industry.. there are always multiple factors involved and hence importance of Conjoint analysis in industries such as media, FMCG.. and others

thats not promotion... last year too Ronit had tweeted many supporting Ritwik... also VD's wife giving countless interview supporting KVB which is just friendly gesture for me.. not promotion 🥱

Haven't read the whole 18 pages, but for once at least the topic is targeted in the right direction. It's Colors which has been opting to promote Madhubala, the show more through Jhalak - pull the reality audience crowd to its show (?)... That's why the clip included the wedding track and VD last week.. and mentioning Madhubala so many times! Increase visibility & curiosity about the show - most would probably tune in to check it out. Business tactics of Colors - can get on my nerves too as a fan, because they are giving the opportunity for people to undermine my fav team's hard-work; still the channel doesn't care about my opinion. They operate the channel as a whole at the end of the day - they'll choose the best strategy for the business. It's the management only which has a say in Colors' decisions.

Well, if they care a little bit about audiences, they'll hear the crying foul call. It's upto ColorsTV to respond.

Secondly about promotion -
Let's divide it into 2 scenarios :

1. When contestants are called only by their screen names within the show, then I think its unfair. Because People who watch other stars on other channels may switch to colors for a reality show and may not like promotion of colors celebrities. If they are mentioned occasionally, its still fine. But not always.

2. Colors promotes the stars of its own shows, working in its own reality show, in between its regular serials. Now this scenario is different. Say Drashti or Sid are working in colors shows. Here colors channel is targeting viewers of Colors only, unlike when JDJ is aired, when many other viewers join in. Basically colors is trying to UP the TRP of JDJ, by promoting the stars of the popular shows on its channel. They want to show the audience, this is what your madhubala looks like, so different, so please do watch the show. People misunderstand that MB or Bv are being promoted. Its the other way round actually. I don't think this scenario is unfair because any channel has to do it do build viewership. They promote other celebrities too but can't call them with their screen names in promos which air in between colors serials. Because that way they will be promoting some other serial on some other channel (sony, star plus, etc). So no channel will do that. Fact is also that colors audience will relate to colors stars. That's why for promos in between regular shows, they use Madhubala and not Drashti.

Lastly, the only way the 2nd situation can be countered is if Sony starts airing Sweta's promos as see 'sweety' in a new avatar. But that they will never do because JDJ is a colors show. And any big Sweta fans who by some chance may not be following JDJ might flock to it. Sony or any competitor would never want that.

IMO ideally only Drashti name should be used within the show JDJ. For promos on its own channel, in between regular shows, colors has the prerogative to use screen name or actual name. And in a way business sense dictates that to build JDJ TRP, they promote screen names of actors in Colors shows.
