First of all, I would like to congratulate Colors for doing a fab job of giving us such a grand premier.The production values, visual effects, stage-everything was bigger, better and grand!
The line up this year is fantastic!! ...and sooo exciting!! Its gonna be a tough competition and I am looking forward coz i am sure the level of dancing (as they have been promising) will be really high this year. So what did i feel after watching everyones debut performances. Here goes:
1. Drashti-I am a Drashti fan. She is a good dancer -the bollywood, freestyle dancing. But JDJ is about excelling in diff dance forms. Her debut was well choreographed and she did fine but her nervousness took over and she goofed up in many places...but the gal is hardworking and will come back with a bang.
2. Shaan-Loved him!! Good act. He has such a pleasant, ever smiling personality, He leaves you happy after watching him. He is light on his feet-will definitely grow as a dancer...plus has a great choreographer! He will go far...
3. Lauren-Fabulous!! The best dancing without doubt. She was better than Puneet. Looking fwd to seeing her do Indian..the little she did with Ranbir, she will be fab! And such a positive girl!
4.Aarti-She was good but somehow I couldnt connect with her or her act. She left me cold...but lets see how she does going forward.
5. Suresh-Total paisa wasool perf. Complete entertainer. Weak dancer but who knows...he might just be the dark horse. Very endearing personality. Ready to laugh at himself.It takes guts to put yourself out there the way he is doing knowing fully well he isnt a good dancer. Hats off.
6. Karanvir- a very good dancer. Strong and with great energy. But today I felt his debut perf wasnt extraordinary. He did justice to it but his choreographer needs to up the bar more and be more creative. I want to see him do kathak on stage as i hear he is a trained kathak dancer.
7. The kids- she was hurt so it wouldnt be fair to say how good they were this week.
8. Meghna Malik-My Favourite act of both days. This lady is classy, sophisticated with the biggest smile.For someone who hasnt danced before, she was fab!! Great energy, superb expressions ..pleasure watching her dance. She enjoyed herself too! Looking Really want to see her go far in JDJ..
9. Sid-Visually the best act. He was good. He is a weak dancer but his choreographer is very good-she played to his strengths and put up a good act and he did his best. What a charmer!! I am very sure he is gonna get truck loads of additional female fan following post jhalak.
10. Shweta- I was looking forward ton see her dance coz she is a graceful dancer...but today she disappointed. This was her forte but she didnt dance well...there was too much prancing about. Her choreographer needs to put in more effort. She will be led by him so he needs to ensure she shines. Looking forward to seeing her do other dance forms
11. Ekta-Undoubtedly the best choreography for me!! Beautiful!! But like the judges said, she was expressionless. Weak dancer but has a v good choreographer.Lets see what happens going forward
Pls feel free to express your opinions...lets make this forum more about dance and less about personalities and fan wars...this is one of the best JDJ line up, lets attempt to enjoy it!
