Ashish had all odds against him

I know many people were quite shocked when we heard yesterday that Ashish was declared the winner of JDJ 7. I myself could not believe it. I did want him to win but truly speaking as a follower of Ashish's journey in Jhalak, I had this gut feeling that he add all odds against him for winning the trophy. These are my reasons for Ashish having all odds against him for winning.

1. Colors Boy: So apparently, since last season people have become skeptical on those individuals who are doing both a Colors show and JDJ since there's a stigma that Colors actors are more favored over the other celebrities on the show.

2. Shampa as a choreo partner: as Shampa has already won the 2012 season with Gurmeet, thus you would think that they wouldn't allow the same choreographer to win two seasons.

3. Ashish was underscored for many performances: if judges favoritism was the case of Ashish winning, they would not have underscored him for several of his acts like the yakshagana act and Aaj phir romantic dance.

4. Ashish did not receive any Golden Dancing Shoes or Shakti Immunity Ball

5. RR discrimination: with channel's highly discriminatory decorum towards Rangrasiya I was skeptical of whether they would allow Ashish to win since his show is done and over with(channel's perspective).

6. Ashish never played safe: he himself said that he told Shampa that he wants to do something new every week and does not want to repeat himself.

Therefore, for all of the above reasons I believe that Ashish had chances of winning due to his fan following but I believe that he had a lot of odds against him for not winning despite his talent, hardworking and honesty. I had a feeling that Channel politics would be done in order to decide the winner but I didn't believe that Ashish would be declared winner if that happened. All in all, I do feel very proud that Ashish won because he truly deserved it. I would also like to congratulate Shakti, Karan and Mouni for giving so many breathtaking and fabulous performances and having reached this far. The rest of the three are also winners. A big round of applause for the three runner ups and the winner! 👏

What I find most amusing is that there's this odd dichotomy about him being a "Colors Boy". On the one hand it's used to underscore his credibility and odds to win- saying that it will be fixed since he's part of the channel, yet on the same hand people mock him for his shows low TRPs and eventual cancellation.

It's funny to see the two "arguments side by side"

Love him. Hate him. Set up or not- he worked JUST as hard as any other contestant there, and deserves to win. I don't think he had the odds against him, nor do I think they were in his favour.
I'm just happy he's taking Colors money and can GTFO and find a channel, and production house that won't butcher a show of his that started off wonderfully and turned into garbage.

Yes, I agree he worked equally if not more than his peers. Like Ashish said in his interview the trophy is a return gift to Rangrasiya and all the fans who supported him till the very end.

Agree!
even though I wanted him to win.. When I heard he won it was a shocker, because as you mentioned, it was unpredictable, with the low scores and the GREAT competition and all that.
So Happy that he won though

I was ecstatic that he won but yes it was a shock as well because like you said he had a lot of odds working against him plus competition was fierce especially since all other finalists were just as good. I am also glad he won. He truly deserves this win.
