A VJ, a singer, an actress and now, a superb dancer as well! That is Sophie Choudry for you! After face-off with eliminations during her initial days in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7', Sophie Choudry proved herself worthy of the trophy by her wonderful dance acts week after week. Sophie encapsulated her affair with Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7' during an interview with Pinkvilla.com.
Did your entire journey on Jhalak..' teach you something? / How has been the experience like?
It has definitely been a memorable experience and one of the toughest challenges I have undertaken both physically and mentally! I never do anything halfheartedly, so I gave it my all. I have never been a quitter in my life but this journey taught me that I had a wonderful fighting spirit. It has also taught me that I'm physically stronger than I thought myself to be, that survival is about team work and above all the outcome is not in your control. Like life, at times, even this competition is not fair.
What were your expectations when you had begun your journey on Jhalak..'?
I always knew it was going to be tough but I hoped to make it to the finals! Winning was always going to be difficult on this show. My aim was to show the audience something different each week and I'm really proud to say that this season I was the contestant who tried maximum dance style from bachata and jive to contemporary, hip hop, paso doble , Bollywood and even acrobatia in water! I even donned the maximum avatars! My aim was to make my mark and win the love and respect of the judges and the audience. I think I managed that.
Of all your stage performances, which one was the toughest to put together?
They were all extremely tough because Deepak used to make me dance non-stop and cover the entire stage! None of my acts have been easy! I think the alien on crutches act was extremely tough! So was the cats' one. For someone with a slipped disc history to be dancing on a rostrum is not a joke! And even the aerial act was extremely challenging!
Who, according to you, is the most liberal judge - Madhuri, KJo or Remo?
It's a tie between Madhuriji and Kjo. They are both more instinctive as judges!
Who do you think deserves to win the show now?
Technically Akshat has been the most consistent! He's such a hardworking, talented kid but I know he won't win. Even Shakti is fantastic but I doubt she will win! I like Ashish a lot. He shoots all day and rehearses at night and is a very expressive performer but I think Mouni and Punit have always been the favourites.
