| Prachi won the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa contest by beating Sandhya Mridul, her closest rival. She, along with her choreographer Deepak, excitedly told the media how excited they're about this new found success. We spoke to them right after they received the trophies.
How does it feel to be the winner?
First of all, the feeling that I am a winner needs to sink in. It's still unbelievable. I am so happy. I don't feel like putting the trophy down [laughs]. How has your life changed after Jhalak? I think everything is the same. Of course, I've achieved so much. It's just that I was an actor earlier and now I am a dancer, too. This New Year has been extremely lucky for me. Whom would you like to give credit to for your win? There are lots of people to whom I would give the credit. First of all, there is Deepak. If he wasn't there, this trophy wouldn't have been with me. Of course, my viewers—those who voted for me, thank you so much. And my parents and all those working in the Jhalak team. You came back through the Wild Card round. Did you expect to make it to the end? Never. I am as surprised as you are. But yes, we did decide that if we came back through the Wild Card, we would give it all we had and work harder. Do you prefer calling yourself a dancer or an actor? That is a tough one. My first love is my role of bahu, and yes, now I am a dancer, too. So will you buy the home you wanted to buy for your mother? Yes, after this interview I'll just jump my way to my mom and tell her I am going to buy the house now! What do you want to tell Sandhya, you competitor in the finals? Sandhya is a fabulous dancer. I am grateful that I got a chance to be with her on the same platform. I really enjoyed the last dance, where we three danced together. What next after Jhalak?
