Win some, lose some...
The buzz is that Prachi Desai won 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2' because of Ektaa Kapoor's influence, even though Sandhya Mridul was widely regarded as the better dancer. After Hours confronted both the finalists to get at the truth...
Prachi Desai, winner
It feels great to have won the show. I always wanted to win but didn't know if I would actually win it. Now, I am very happy. There may have been better dancers than me but I feel I deserve to win because I had worked hard. And its not just hard work that was in my favour. My viewers also supported me. People may say that Ektaa (Kapoor) heavily promoted me and that co-judge Jeetendra-ji was praising me a little extra, but my point is that how can one production house influence the judgment and format of another production house or channel? Apparently, some people even suggested that my wild-card entry was rigged. But I wonder who are the people who are spreading such rumours. And if you remember, in the last season too, people had a lot of things to say about Mona Singh's win. In my opinion, judges have been fair. Urmila said that she feels Sandhya (Mridul) is the winner, but how does it matter when the trophy is with me?
Sandhya Mridul, first runner-up
I am very happy, very content. You lose only if you lose heart, and I haven't. I have only lost the trophy and cash prize but I have won many hearts. The judges - Shiamak Davar and Urmila Matondkar - declared me the winner. That's a superb feeling. People gave me standing ovation in the final episode. I am not in a position to say who deserved to win. Anyone would have felt that he or she deserves to win. But it is not my job to assess that. The whole journey has been smooth and fun. I don't want to end it on a negative note by saying anything against the show. But yes, when you go into a competition, you should be prepared to get dirty. Yet, I am not an insecure person. I am not someone to keep resentment in my heart. I don't give a damn about what's happening around, who is supporting whom - it doesn't bother me. After Prachi's name was announced, I congratulated her. Though, initially, I didn't go up to her. It was a very confusing moment - the hosts were announcing Prachi's win and yet some people were coming from behind and congratulating me. Anyways, right now I'm planning to take a break for 10 days and then start looking at new projects.
