I have not seen the episode, but she probably means she knows where Prachi is coming from. On the one of the behind the scene videos on the jhalak website, she had said "she had been a bahu, and she knows the popularity that comes with that. How could Prachi be voted out?" In fact Sandhya was the first "K" bahu in Koshish Ek Aasha. Hence Sandhya is in her mid-late 30s. Before we jump to conclusions: here are quotes from her interviews posted in the Sandhya Supportive Club.

At the prime of her television career, with successes from Hubahu and Koshish, she shifted to cinema just to avoid being typecast.
"I'm scared to touch another serial now," she says throwing a surprise at you. "Most serials begin well but don't know how to end. They meander aimlessly. I did Choti Si Aasha directed by K Balachander where the audience knew the beginning and ending. And yet, it was gripping. I thought that was a better serial."
Interview in 2003

If you are game to take on stress, I feel you can acquire a lot of fame in television where many actors have become more famous than films stars have.
Fame does not matter to me. If it had, I wouldn't have quit television. And maybe by now, I would have joined politics and made so much money that I had a personal bungalow by now. But... I want to go home with a calm mind. I don't want to keep asking on the sets 'Pack up kab hai yaar?' If fame was my trip, I would have also been chasing commercial cinema in any avtaar - be it even sister or bhabhi - and not cross-over, small budget films like I am doing now.

Are you hinting that 'Koshish Ek Asha' was not a good experience?
Koshish... Ek Aasha was an experience. Period.

Please elaborate...
No experience is good or bad because you come out learning something. Koshish Ek Asha gave me a lot of what I am today. Balaji Telefilms is not the easiest production house to work with. I know that's what you want to hear, but I never said that they are. But they know how to make stars. However, I must say that my director and the cast were a gem. Hmmm... think of it, I wouldn't term it as a bad experience.

I've been a fan of Sandhya's since Koshish. She's the reason I'm watching this show, she was definitely a good bahu 😉 that show was just amazing in the beginning, one of the best Balaji shows.

Sandhya played a typical Bahu in a Balajji Soap named Koshish:Ek Aasha 😳 ...and she got a lot of fame from that show 😃

So I don't understand why she is so jealous of Prachi now as she too ones did the role of a Bahu during the start of her career 😕

I don't think she's jealous I think she's just different. She tried it (and was very good at it) but she's doing other stuff. Prachi is just starting out and so is trying out what's best for her now (and she's a good bahu too).

I agree. I remember Koshish ... Ek Asha. Undoubtedly the best Balaji serial. And yes, Sandhya was the very first Balaji bahu and a believable one. Unlike these days prototype k-serials, Koshish had a soul. I still remember the heartrenching perils of a woman trapped in a strange marriage. It was such a great portrayal by both Sandhya Mridul and Varun Badola. (what more can I say about his acting, I really thought he was mentally challenged! but I was very young.)

It was a really touching story. God knows how much I cried in that serial. And and situation was believable. Scenes were really touching and not dramatically shot. And performance by the lead pair was top notch. Although towards the end the story went quite haywire, and I never knew how it ended.

Those were the days when even an Ekta serial was not about woman vamps with large bindis, reincarnations for the 3rd time, impromptu item songs, murders and rapes within the family and basically nothing too dramatic. Koshish was a story of an unusual situation but it was still believable. If only Ekta continued with such quality instead of the "working formula quantity serials" she produces now.

On the contrary, she was quite popular. And Koshish ... Ek Asha remains one of the most popular shows. But of course you had to be born before 1990 to understand it because the serial wasn't as slapstick as k-serials today are which even 5 year olds can understand. I believe that Koshish is the best show Ekta ever produced or thought of because it had a soul. No doubt in those days they didn't have "Star Parivaar Awards" n stuff. TV was still a smaller medium then. So that is probably why you had never heard of Sandhya or Koshish.
