He is a fiery dancer and believes in giving the audience something new every time. Even his fellow contestants looked forward to his performance. The mind and heart behind Prachi's startling growth, Deepak is an angry man today because he feels that the choreographers are not given enough credit for their hard work. He feels let down by the janta. Tell as about Deepak the choreographer. I worked as a choreographer in Bangalore for 6 years. I came to Mumbai for a show on Sony called Dance Dance. That's when I decided to stay back. It's been two and half years now. I have worked with many choreographers like Ganesh Hegde [I was one of his favourites]. I was also the runner-up on Nach Baliye last year. I have never learned dancing. I bought videos, went online and tutored myself. Once you've learned the basics, it's easy to do the advanced. I made up my own steps. In the future, I wish to be ranked among Bollywood's top choreographers. My biggest dream is to win the World Salsa Competition. Did the elimination come as a shock to you? I wanted to win this competition so badly—not for me, but for Prachi. It was her first competition and I know how it feels to be out of your first competition. But I am proud of her because she has proved to be a strong girl. She has achieved a lot at such a young age. She always listened to me and did what I told her to do. She trusted me and I trusted her talent. Do you aspire to be in Bollywood? Yes, I do. That's why I've come all the way from Bangalore. I am going to go back home and cry a lot. There are lots of people who came here with dreams: I am one of them. Are you angry with the janta? Yes, a little. They did support us in the beginning, but I want to ask the janta why they don't vote for those who deserve it. It's not just the artist, but also the choreographer. He is the backbone of this programme. The people shouldn't just vote for the celebrity they like. They should also think about the choreographer. I am sure after four weeks, people will forget us. It's only those who go to the finals who are remembered. But this is my challenge to them—I will come back to Jhalak. I want to win and tell people that what they did the last time was wrong. Who has a chance to win now? Sandhya. I always thought that she was my biggest threat. I once told her, 'Let's meet in the finals.' Javed, her choreographer, is also great. Marischa is another good friend of mine and she is great at her job. There is no other choreographer who can make Mir Ranjan Negi dance but her. If she wins, I'll be very happy for her. |
