To be fair to Rohit, he cannot be accused of not supporting the other participants. But much to everyone's discomfort, he was clearly overdoing his sibling act and harping on the family connection to drum up support and votes for his 'bade bhaiyya'. The 'bhaiyya' act went on so blatantly for four weeks that Sony finally told him not to overemphasise on his family connection with Ronit. However, Rohit denies the fact that his display of affection for his brother caused any problem. "Ronit is my elder brother and I did refer to him as 'bade bhaiyya' a few times. But that's perfectly fine. My job is to appreciate every participant's performance and ask viewers on the participants' behalf to vote for them. And that includes Ronit," says Rohit. In his opinion Jhalak is not only about dance. "It is also about warmth, attitude and people's love. If it was only about dance then Shveta Salve would have won last year. But Mona walked away with the title because of her popularity," he adds. Speaking about his anchoring skills, Rohit says he is just being himself. "My past experience in the showbiz is of great help. I don't follow a script or feel the need to do any homework. Whatever I say and do is pretty much impromptu. But there is so much support from my production team that they keep coaching me on the dos and don'ts," he reveals. Commenting on his co-host Mona, Rohit says she is learning and improving with each episode. "We are working as a team and complementing each other. Fortunately we have a great back up team for support," he says. |
