Mini finds a new love
Mathur has discovered her passion for dancing courtesy 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa-2'
TV anchor Mini Mathur, known for her witty repartees, found herself dumbstruck for a change. It happened when the anchor was approached for the show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa-2' (Sony).
Mini recalls, "I presumed they were calling me to co-anchor the show. But when they said I would be one of the contestants I almost died of shock. But they kept convincing me that the show was meant for non-dancers. Eventually I relented."
She continues, "I have never danced in my life. Even in my wildest dreams I could never imagine myself to be on a dance reality contest. But I agreed because I had not done anything new for a long time."
But hasn't hosting musical reality shows helped? "No it's terrible when you are non-dancer. Luckily, I am a music buff with a sense of rhythm. Hopefully, that would help me sail through," enthuses Mini.
However, she confesses, "I have fallen madly in love with dancing and want to learn more. In the premiere episode, I performed a complex salsa move to the number 'Its Rocking' with my choreographer Hemu. My husband Kabir (Khan, director 'Kabul Express') complimented me. Maybe, Kabir will offer me a role in his upcoming movie!"
