My two cents on the performances today (from my most favorite to the least favorite contestant based only on the performances today).
1) Sandhya Mridul: Sandhya Mridul is an AWESOME actor. I watch her movies only for her. She used her acting skills and her energy to the hilt in her performance today. Amazing performance and neat choreo. She was technically correct and had amazing expressions. For me, she undoubtedly was the best today. Jeetendra was mighty unfair with his points.
2) Tie between Sudha Chandran and Sonali Kulkarni. I have always admired Sudha Chandran...what guts!!! hats off to her...She has an artificial limb..But, I just could not make out which one was the artificial limb. I do think her choreo could have been slightly better (but I think she is slightly on the heavy side, so the choreographer will have tough time giving her cha cha and some difficult salsa steps.) Though, the choreo could have had a bit more flow in the dance. I do think Jitendra was a bit unfair with her.
Sonali was technically very correct. She deserved more points than what she got. Her choreographer Toby did a brilliant job. I did not know that Sonali could dance so well, but she did. Sonali has done mainly serious cinema, which showed in her expressions today. Her expressions were good, but were not sizzling.
3) Mini Mathur: Mini danced really well. For a first time salsa performer, she used her feet well. Her choreo, I think, could have done a much better job. Her dance lost its flow in between and had some places where they could have put in a step or two to get the flow.
4) Tapur Chatterjee and Prachi Desai: I did not expect Tapur to dance this well. Her intro dance was horrible. But, she managed pretty decent. I do think she deserved more points. Today she was as good or bad as Prachi. But, I think Prachi has more potential than her as a dancer. Now for prachi desai. I have always hated her acting (whatever little I have seen of her serial) and hated her performance at Zee awards (very stiff). Compared to her Zee performance, I think she performed well. Her choreographer was quite smart...gave her VERY easy steps. Prachi expressed better than what she does in her serial...but there is a long way to go. Her put on cute smile will not work for all dances (some dances need sensuous expressions)..unfortunately. Having said this, she has potential to do a lot better. I do think Jeetender was quite biased toward her, which he showed in his points.
I am looking forward to Ronit Roy's dancing...he is an awesome dancer.
