Then voting lines should only be open for 2 hours after the show is over like in Strictly Come Dancing, American Idol etc etc instead of having them open 24 hrs per day for 5 days.

The 2 hour thing is much better...it won't entirely solve the problem of janta favouritism but atleast it will reduce the problem considerably. It would prevent people from opening voting factories as in the case of Sandeep Acharya (Indian Idol 2) where people were paid to sit in a room all day and vote for him. People voice their opinion within those 2 hours and then voting lines are closed. Finished. Simple.

Sony is so fond of hiding behind the 'We're just following the format' excuse. Well why don't they follow the format properly then? They suddenly forget their precious format when it comes to making money. Seriously BBC and the owners of American Idol etc should sue Sony for not sticking to the contract. If they use the name then they must follow the same rules as specified.

Not saying this only due to JDJ but we have seen it happen time and time again in Indian Idol, Fame Gurukul etc. Sony are breaching the contract that allows them to use the format owned by BBC and the American Idol folks.

i think the channel and the mobile companies have a deal..that they get a cut out of all the sms's that were sent..so they make money out of that too..so if they keep it only for 2 hrs..they wont make that much money.....and if they are breaching the contract...they should have gotten sued by now...probably they changed the contract according to the indian public....who knows😕

BOTH Benaam and soap_fan u said it correct.. It is about money.

Bhaskar T. posted a GREAT GREAT idea 👏 earlier in one of his posts. He talked about A CRITICS award and A PUBLIC award.
If the same person gets both, GREAT! if not, both can be happy.. that can really solve the problem. grand idea from Bhaskar T indeed.

yes, reality shows are money making business for the channel and for mobile providers. And this is not the first time SONY has changed the format of the original. They are famous for this since JJKN days.
Btw, Critics award and public award sounds like a great idea.

It was actually put forth first by TallyHo. But thats a good idea. They actually followed it somewhat in this round of SRGMP lil Champs. They gave judges award to two of the best ones who got eliminated early due to votong... Pawni and Abrokanti.

Yes guys... it's all about money 🤢 ... and in India voters have to pay out of their pocket to vote for their favourite where as in the original shows like American Idol.... voters don't pay for voting (correct me if i am wrong)...

Me too like the idea of giving two awards... one public choice and one judges choice 😊 ...

[/qUOTE] Only in India we see voting for days and weeks and money spent from public's pocket🤢. American Idol voting is done through toll free numbers so absolutely free but if one uses cingular text message then text messaginig fee apply. Voting lines are open for only 2 hrs.
