I remember Buffie making a post a few days ago that Mona was asking for votes in shows/roadshows etc etc.. but dude, wasn't Shveta doing the same thing at Sony's behest? All promotional gimmicks.

Bollywood Mumbai: Now that "Jassi... Jaisi Koi Nahin" is nearing an end, Mona Singh speaks on the trauma of being the protagonist 24x7 and rumours of a romance with co-star Karan Oberoi.

"There's nothing! I am too ambitious to get into a relationship," Mona told IANS in an interview.

After "Jassi...", Mona wants to throw away the garb of Jassi and create a place for herself as Mona Singh in showbiz. "I have to find my own identity now. It's been three years! I was zapped mentally... Imagine telling people all the time that I wasn't Mona, that I was this make-believe character named Jassi." "But I'm not going to burst into an item number just to prove I'm not Jassi in real life. I'll only do what I'm comfortable with. I hope there are some good roles written for me."

But after a while it became a mental torture to be 'Jassi' even at awards functions. I used to plead with my channel (Sony) to let me be myself at least at the awards function. Because, it was Mona Singh and not Jassi who received the awards. But they insisted.

i thought i wouldnt debate ne more....but readin this...i had to say this!! i was a regular at jjkn forum too...thoguh i never rote much...just read stuff....(btw i loved ur update with all those emoticons😆) neways my point is...wen she spent 3 yrs of her life being someone she wasnt, always acting like a completely diff person, wearing wierd clothes, big glasses, braces, had to be painful, she had to work like a dawg to keep up her image as jassi and to hide her true identity...n now wen she can take advantage of all her hard work, u r saying she is using tactics? commmon man! plus these celebs r human...she must have given this interview wen all around her..ppl caled her jassi nm she was facing an emotional dilemma abt her identity...u posted this artcile...i can find 5 more in which she said tht she doesnt mind ppl calling her jassi coz it is coz of tht tht she is this popular!

Anusha, when someone is so close to winning a major competition and 50 lakhs, that'll help boost their career, I dont think they'll be thinking about sticking to their previous statements. I dont think ever wanted to chuck the jassi tag---yes, she wanted to be known as mroe than jsut jassi but its the jassi tag tht adds value to her image--and she knows tht.

Mona was just being smart and her smartness paid off.....we might have different opinions as to wht she did was right or wrong, but personally, I dont think it is wrong to manipulate an audience that can so easily be manipulated by just an image. Is any1 is to blame it's the audience---it's the audience who still think of her as Jassi----and ultimately she had to adapt to wht the audiences want to see her as.
