Mona hai sona!Mona Singh is the bookies' favourite with odds at Rs 2.50 in her favour. Shveta, co-finalist on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, fetches Rs 3.7 By: Nishant Bhuse and Tushar Joshi |
After tripping in her first few performances on Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Mona Singh, seems to be ahead of her co-finalist, hot-stepper Shveta Salve.
Mona is a clear favourite of the punters in the city and Maharashtra — with odds riding in her favour at Rs 2.50 as against Shveta's Rs 3.70. The total betting on the show which began on September 7, has been Rs 90 crore, said sources.
Ramnikbhai, a bookie operating from Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi has been accepting bets from punters for the show. Bookies added that punters could also place bets in real time (when the show begins at 8 pm) and double their returns, but are apprehensive that the result may be leaked before the show ends.
"Everyone is rooting for Mona. She is the real winner," said a source on condition of anonymity. When asked about the mood of the two finalists, the source revealed, "Mona is her usual self — she's been fooling around, joking and seems very happy. Her entire family is here to cheer for her. Shveta on the other hand is nervous and looks flustered."
The grand finale which will be aired tonight at 8 pm will have 12 performances, one of which includes a jugalbandi between Mona and Shveta. "They will dance to Dil To Pagal Hai, with Shveta as Madhuri and Mona as Karisma. The dance will obviously reveal real emotions." The highlight of the evening will be a performance by Farah Khan with the two choreographers — Longi and Toby and hot bod Shilpa Shetty will also dance on the UP-Bihar lootne… track. Besides these, hosts Archana and Parmeet will also perform a bhangra.
