Since I am here after a while, I thought I'd post my two cents on what I thought of Sushant-Shampa's performance today =)
So a big hello to all the people who'll bother reading this, and big wave to all those who still remember me. (A little too much too ask, eh? 😆 )
I liked the concept on a whole. Many dance shows on Indian Television have taken this concept up, and it's nothing new. But I think, it's maybe me being a die-hard Bollywood person that the very name of this concept has me smiling and expecting loads. Now, the expectations are much higher when it's from a brilliant dancer like Sushant.
For a fact, I know that he is injured and it's really tough to perform with a back gone. I am trained dancer myself, and small back pains make it really tough to dance, and the degree of his pain is unimaginable. His pain was evident when the judges were giving his comments, and I applaud him for having so much will and power to actually come back. But, as a fan girl, I did expect a bit more, just a bit more.
But then again, I did like the performance on a whole. It was very well choreographed and the highlight of the performance for me was the usage of back dancers. A big pat on Shampa's back for this. The usage was excellent and so was the usage of stage :)
28 was well deserved. I didn't expect them to get a 30 today, because if we go into major detailing and technicalities they were flaws. Well,I am not going in there, cause I don't want to be beaten up and told that I read too much into stuff. Hahahah !
And as for next week's challenge. I am pretty confident about Sushant doing well, only because he himself is a very accomplished dancer, and this challenge reminds me of his solo performances in ZND. Even though the standard is higher here, I have full confidence that he'll be able to do it, and with Shampa's brilliant choreography this should be something interesting to watch out for. I hope to see what they'll be brining out next time. I hope they do contemporary personally, because he is got contemporary postures that are brilliant, and also they can be a lot of stories…aah my mind seems to be already running, lol ! And I fervently hope that Sony shows us promo's of Sushant's performance, not the way they did this week, Ha !
Take Care Folks :D
