Just finished watching the episode. Sushant and Shampa NAILED it in both their performances. The Face-off act on Teri Deewani...wow. Just wow. Yana and Salman were not as good as they've been, and well, to be very honest, after seeing both acts, I didn't really think there was much of a contest. 😎
Anyhow, coming back to Sushant and Shampa, the Chinese Dai, Yi and Kung Fu was really, really good. As usual, they had a good concept, fantastic dancing, and tons of creativity. There's really not much else you'd want in a performance. Touchwood. The precaps before the act had me worried for a bit because they only showed snippets of the martial arts portions, and I was wondering if that was all they did, but then when they began the act, it just took off to a whole other level. Shampa deserves a huge pat on the back and a hug for what she presented in both routines, and Sushant does too, for the finesse with which he executed each and every move. 🤗
The smile on his face when he heard the comments, when he danced with Madhuri and then when he saw the scores...made me breathe easy after what's been a majorly tension-wrought week. Yayy for his comeback, and yayy for his 30! 😃
Sushant and Shampa apart, I was quite disappointed with the round as a whole, to be honest. Chang and Marischa, after last week's outstanding act, were a bit of a let-down for me personally. In hindsight, I think that may have something to do with the dance form they chose. I didn't really warm up to it for some reason. I thought Yana and Salman were clumsy for the first time in a long time today, in both their acts. Yana seemed to forget steps in the Face-Off routine, and they had co-ordination trouble too. I think the judges' decision to use their veto might have been keeping in mind that they're otherwise quite worthy of being there as compared to someone like Mahi who's never even in the danger zone. Plus, Yana's got her own set of injuries she's dealing with, and they evidently kept that in mind even during the Russian act, which also I found wanting in a lot of respects. Mahi and Savio's Can-Can was well, not Can-Can. That's about all I'd rather say on that subject. 🥱
The Precap for tomorrow...well, as we'd guessed already, Sushant and Shampa are doing Dhoom Taana. They aired barely two seconds' worth of a snippet, and Sushant was all energy and fun, lol. I'm not sure if it went well or not, though, we'll just have to wait and see. The other three we already know, courtesy BollyHungama. 😳
So well, yeah. Overall a rather disappointing episode, but Sushant and Shampa were worth it all. Totally and completely.
All the best to them for their next performances! 🤗
P.S. I'm SO sorry about how long that is, lol. 😲 😆
