I personally think this is a very good concept, holding the contestants accountable for 2 performances on the very same day. It does indeed challenge them, and also gives them a chance to redeem themselves, kinda like a 'safety net' if they didn't do well on their first performance itself.

On the other hand, it is indeed more tiring and there are more expectations on the contestants, leading to more hard work. It'll be interesting to see how the contestants are able to balance dance schedules and their daily shoots(for telly actors, that is)

Also, going by the promo, each contestant is dancing on the same dance form, so there'll be a better medium on which to judge them, and the bias that way will be reduced.

I am glad to see that JDJ is finally taking some good points from DWTS and Strictly come dancing. They are slowly moving towards good themes, genres as well as challenges like double performances, team dances etc. Maybe they can add marathons and impromptu dances as well.

JDJ quality of dance is usually lower due to Indian television schedules. Unlike a season weekly format, most Indian shows have a dumb 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year format - which makes for awry shooting schedules, overworked celebrities etc so dancing lacks. I hope more channels pick up on Sony's attempt to have seasons and weekly formats.
