My previous post on GC an Shampa's performance was turned into a battle field...I hope that does not happen this time...and i sincerely wish that i am not tagged a "GC basher" or a "GC hater" because i am not one...I have always and will be a fan on this wonderfully talented "ACTOR" 😊

But truth is hard to digest and this post is not to hurt or offend anyone...

GC and Shampa performed on "RUMBA"...- Yes the act was better than the previous two, and credit for that goes to Shampa. Looks like finally it has hit her that she needs to adapt a different technique altogether. The lifts were beautifully done and in full control but all it had to offer were some very basic footwork ..."THE" actual Rumba steps were actually missing. Plus Rumba is a dance form that demands a highly scorching Chemistry...which was totally missing between GC and Shampa.

Rumba
is an International Latin dance and i wonder where all the hip-movement go????... Hip movement in Rumba is not just contained to the female dancer, but both.
Gurmeet never shook his hips and at times he was plain walking where was the basic RUMBA walk???

Yes GC was better this time... But did it actually register to you guys that GC had nothing much to do in terms of Dance? He handled all the lifts exceptionally well, his expressions for the song chosen were bang on !!! His stances, postures etc were Bang On! But where was the DANCE? Even the camera focused more on Shampa and she definitely stole most of the lime-light 👏

The act was no STUNNER...It was a smart Choreography though..

There's lots of room for improvement but much better than last week ...Kudos to that 👏

Cheers...

Note: Discussion Post...Please do not turn it into a battle field and try and stick to the TOPIC

Hmm It was an Okay performance to mee! But he did improve from his last two dances! Thats great! He did work hard and kept all the comments of the judges in his mind and he did try his best to please dem! He is very hard working guy! That's what I like about him, and he is determined to improve himself! 😊

P.S I am not any GC Basher too! I am just saying about his dance ways...and just judging his normal dancing acts, thats all! I do like him as an actor

ok u say the act was no stunner
on this i just wanna say if the act was no stunner, then it was not just a normal act also because i believe it was much more than that thats y it fetched 2 9 from two respective judges..
And i think Judges understand little more than we do about the dance😛
And about the GCs little dance, i think lifting ur partner supporting ur partner also vital part of these kind of dance forms..So we just cant say that he dint dance and only supported her completely overluking his hardworking effort behind this awesome prerformance..

agree with you yaar...
how can anyone say that he didnt danced at all...
the whole dance was full with lift and postures which requires both of their co-ordination...
i mean shampa wont be hanging in air by herself, it was an equal contribution from gc's part too...

GC is a very hardworking guy, and there are innumerable instances that showcases this and i love him for that...It makes him all the more special

I never said it was bland...I said the dance the RUMBA dance moves were missing from GC's part...plus GC's walks were not the actual Rumba walk...With all due respect the 2 judges who awarded him a"9" marks were Madhu and Karan who are not looking the technicalities of the dance...The only Judge who looks at the performance as a whole that means techniques, style, dance, entertainment quotient etc is Remo...and he has awarded them an 8 which means there was a flaw some where but it was not as disappointing as last time...There has been an improvement and that's due to the Team effort the two have put up...I agree to all of this...My point is that the dance was missing...

Plus i agree the judges understand this stuff better than we do, but what i have written is based on what i observed and what my personal experience of this Dance style says.

Lifting your partner without faltering, stances, postures etc are as important but they never form the Crux of the act...They are all part of it...Dance is what forms the crux of it...😊

One can say he did not dance, because he did not dance...Yes Shampa cannot hang in air all by herself she needs GC to carry of the lifts with ease and perfection which he did...All i am saying is Lifts, expressions, acting, stances, postures only form a part of the act...The other half or rather the bigger half always consists of pure dance😊

GC's this week performance was definitely better than the previous 2.. he is improving for sure. But I agree with TM.. it was not as stunning as the judges made it out to be😕.. it deserved 25 points IMO.. but with GC, points are immaterial as he will get loads of votes 😊

I don't think getting 2 9s from judges is a measurement of great performance.. these judges are known to be inconsistent 😕 Madhuri and Karan gave 7 to Sushil Kumar's jumping around 😕 there was hardly any Salsa in his performance and whatever little was there was done by the girl and not by Sushil

How about Googling it first? Which part of the world does dance form Rumba belong to?
Lets help u out in this with a link as shown under:
It is not a Latin american dance...it is an Afro Cuban dance...watch out for the first link of wikipedia and scroll down for some videos...
Even I felt there were few dancing steps and a wee bit of stiffness still exists...But I guess Remo knows better than alll of us out here on IF...and I loved his comments the most...he was spot on...as far as chemistry is concerned a separate article dedicated to Gurmeets performance says it all but it might be made up as well u never know...
