This thread is an awesome place to discuss dance. Let's not bring nature of fans here. Also people, as all of you have seen, its a critics corner, so there will be criticism of your favorite celeb with respect to dance. please do not jump on every single post.

First of all thank you for a wonderful post. Last week was highly disappointing. dance wise and marks wise. I think this season JDJ has the most poorest start. Mostly boring routines. Nothing to be excited abt.

Isha is amazing in dance but expected of her she is a professional dancer from the age 11. She still needs to work on her expressions. I couldnt connect with her expressions at all in the dirty picture number. She defenitely didnt deserve 30 according to me. I am expecying some asthetically wonderful routines from her in the coming weeks.

Darsheel is a cutie and can dance. Jai is also a wonderful choreo. But sometimes I feel my eyes go more towards Avneet than Darsheel. But he has great personality.

I really got offended by pratyushas marks. she seemed to be the only non dancing celebrity to work hard and she has natural grace and rhythm. deepak is a smart choreo. She should have gotten the 3rd highest mark this week . To give her the lowest as of sanat, archana and all are just idiotic from judges part. How is this going to inspire the girl to do better? And Karans comments. He needed more story. I didnt get that. Isnt this a dance show?

Jayati's routine was good but she lost her strength by the middle and it showed. Didnt get the last lift. It was a bit odd. And their routine defenitely was not contemporary. She has great expressions

Shibani can dance. Even though i didnt like their theme she was very good. If choreographed wisely she could be the dark horse this season.

Bharti is the wonder girl. I like her a lot. She is so entertaining. She proved she can dance in the first routine. But this one was very simple and not much dancing involved.

Gia is clumpsy. But more than her i dont think nishant can do much. Never liked his routines previous season. I hope she improves. She gave up so much for this show.

Gurmeet. I have to say by all the hype i had humungous expectations from him. My own fault i know :-). He was bad. I am calling him bad because he is a tv personality who has experience following choreography for stage shows not like talat or sanat who never danced in their life. He is stiff and his timing is wrong. Shampa should give him choreography where both are dancing together may be play to his strengths so that the routines look neater.

Archana and Sanams routine didnt have any dancing. Dont know who was badder?the celebrity or the choreographer

The aam aadmi. Sushil. Cant dance at all but Alisha played smartly by song selection and steps. He does entertain us with his talks. Naha ke acha laga...

Ravi kissen. Actually got offended by his dance. Too much pelvic thrusting. He also is stiff and muscular. Dont know on what basis judges gave those marks.

Jayasurya. I admire him alot and is a huge fan. But poor man cant dance has no ability to give any expressions or to lip sync. Does not deserve the marks he got. Hope judges will get the guts to critisize him by next week

Talat. Like Sanat he also cant dance and he is very boring.

Has the numbers below 7 vanished without my knowledge or the channel didnt make the cards for them. Judges need to start giving the marks according to improvement from now onwards.

This season Madhuri is irking me with her marks and fake tears. Karan surprisingly has good insights abt routines which i did not expect. Usually non dancer judges are a waste. Remo's comments are good and fair.

Finally caught up with Sunday's episode.

Sanam-Archana: Badly choreographed with very little dance in it. Neither Sanam nor Archana are good dancers so not much to expect here. It was all over the place...nothing much to like actually. Sanam needs to go back and improve his own dancing before choreographing others.

7,8's for this is totally undeserving.

Isha-Salman

Isha can dance, we already know that, but I wouldn't have given it a 10. 9 maybe..I didn't understand what the heck the light bits was at the end, and I actually think there could have been more dance in the perfromance. I didn't understand why Madhuri was crying at all. 😳

LOL Sanath can't dance at all. He's very awkward to watch 😆

Pratyusha-Deepak:

This perfrmance had the most dance. It was well-choreographed and executed decently too. They did a LOT in the small space they had..and I think was difficult too. I liked the concept as well, it was a good ode to a movie. I didn't agree with Karan that Deepak should have included the story of the movie in the choreography. I thought it was a pleasant change. Shouldn't you add something of your own touch in an ode? What's the point of showing us what we already know..where's the THOUGHT in that?

I dunno what's up with the judges. Madhuri...you really think this deserves the same points as Sanam-Archana and Sanath??? Remo--its the same as Archana and worse than Sanaths???? And Karan...worse than those 2?????? Most unfair scores of the evening definitely. I don't know what they're judging based on.

8.5/10...based on judges scores with other performances, this was a 9.

Darsheel-Avneet

Now this is what I'm talking about! Another performance with TONS of dance! Superb energy, good expressions, lots of entertainment, very well choreographed Jai, and nicely executed! Mithuda would have loved this for sure! I really hope this jodi goes far in the competition.

Alisha-Sushil:

Sushil Kumar is very endearing as a person. He's hilarious, he has lots of fun doing what he does. That's what I love the most about him--he truly ENJOYS his performance like no other...like Remo said "dil se nach ta hain" and in my books that deserves points 😳 He forgets to lip synch and he's not much of a dancer, but he has improved from last week! He needs lots of control in his movements and better expressions. Alisha was smart in the choreography.

5 +1 (for enjoying his performance so much)/10

I was most impressed with Deepak and Jai as choreographers last week. I felt that these 2 did the best ode to the movies they were given. There was a flow to the dance and everything was easy to follow. The best performances of the week were Darsheel-Avneet and Isha-Salman followed by Deepak-Pratyusha.

Judges really need to pull up their socks. Their marks are ALL over the place..thoda bohaut chalta hai par last week's scores were too much. I don't why they are so scared to go below 7? Some of these folks deserve 5, 6,7...and they get 8's. You have 10 numbers, not 4. Plus 99% of the time there is NO correlation between the scores and the comments. I love Madhuri Dixit but she is extremely disappointing this season with marks. Karan and Remo are better. Sometimes Karan really surprises me with his comments (in a good way).

Well reading the comments here, I am glad that I am not the only one who thought Isha's performance did not deserve perfect scores. Sure the dancing was nice but the execution was not clear enough, for me at least. I wouldn't have understood what they were trying to show had Remo not pointed out. And I am glad I am not the only one who thought that.

More than theirs, I actually preferred Darsheel's act just because of that connect and also because their performance was completely based on dance. I, personally, am starting to root for this kid more than anyone else. Even Avneet is a great partner and compliments him as a dancer. As for Jai, he is a great choreographer.

The most I am disappointed with is Shampa. She was so amazing last season. I used to eagerly wait to see what she was going to bring each week...and the only reason I was tuning into this season of Jhalak was to see her choreographies, but I am seriously disappointed. I don't know what the reason is...could be the partner (since Sushant was one amazing dancer), but nevertheless, disappointed. The devdas act was so out of the place. The dancing and her concept had no connection at all.

Jaisurya...not a fan and frankly he cannot dance but he was better than last time...tid bit. He has too much of left feet as an athlete. Wouldn't be surprised if he is eliminated soon enough, but can't say since he might have several international fans.

Sushil...not a dancer but a great entertainer. What I like about him is that when he is on stage, he just enjoys himself...and dances (if you can call it a dance) from heart which makes him fun to watch but when I judge him on his dancing skills, he is no better than Jaisurya.

Bharti...she is a good entertainer and can shake her legs to some extent but not to the level of some other performers. Ofcourse you can't compare either because everyone comes from different background, but still...she is good in performing bollywood numbers...but I just wonder what if they have some special theme like say latin-american or indian classical...I am curious on how she would manage. I must applaud Savio (that's her choreo., right?)...I was sort of impressed with the mini lift they did. So I am just curious...

As for others, frankly I don't even remember their performances now...so it would be better if I don't say anything.

But the judgement is not so good. They are all giving sort of same marks...with +/- 1. Frankly, I just feel their comments are scripted. It just seems so fake. But anyways still looking forward for future episodes, with the hope that the dancing improves so that the marks given to these contestants are justified.

I saw the promo too and it looks as though the second pair could be GC and Shampa. There were some stunning moves and the lift was superb. I think GC's forte is salsa and tango...this was one of the two.

And it also looks as though this week end might be a BIG improvement compared to the last few weeks.

I know very little about dance myself...only know what I like and don't like.😆

I think everyone in the show has realised that it is a competition and not a rehearsal, which is what it looked like all these days...and the glimpses we saw in the new promo shows that everyone is giving their best.

I think they have all upped their ante.

I admit as compared to last seasons specially JDJ 4 , this seasons looking lame and lukewarm despite of grabbing so many popular contestants and judges . Usually the show lifts up after 1st week but this time it dropped, initial week was better than 2nd one. This time only pairs which have been impressing for me had been Isha -Salman , darsheel-Avneet and lil bit of Bharti -savio. pratyusha seeems to be very hardworking , hope she gets better by time . I Had huge expectations from gurmeet since he had got one of the best chooreographers of all JDJ seasons but I feel I had expected too much from him ! Hes better when it comes to acrobatics but has to work a lot on soft moves and expressions. Gia is very clumsy in moves. jayatiji is good but am doubtful whther she can do all the forms efficiently.Shibani has been a surprise ,shes actually better than I expected. Archana only has too much of sensuality and sex apeal but am nt impressed with her dance , dint like sanams choreo much as well. ravi kissen has been alright , nt excellent but nt too bad either.
I prefer not giving comments on dancing of Sanath(though as a cricketer hes one of my all time favs ) -talat ji n sushil . Dont understand why judges are always bit lenient while alloting scores to them.😕

before I go, wanna mention one thing. I am surprised many GC fans hav blamed shampa for his low scores(some even requesting change of choreo for him! ) IMO all had seen what wonders she did last season but one of the strong reasons behind her success in JDJ 4 was the person she had choreographed for. Dont really wnna compare but dancewise , Sushant had been 5 steps ahead of gurmeet so shampas choreo has got limitations this time. But I hope GC gets beter every week , not a prob for a kinda hardworking person he is !!

GC- It was a nice performance. However, I think the Rumba steps were missing. Except for a few lifts and very basic footwork...I didnt see too much Rumba.

Gia- I really liked their performance. The dancing was also very much there. She deserved more than 24, IMO.

Archana- Foxtrot is all about grace...I didnt enjoy the performance so much...I think choice of song also played truant here.

Bharti- The Lavni was good. However, I found some of it a bit repetitive (could be due to the dance form)

Shibani- Again, very basic tango steps, I was looking for some of the classic steps. However, it was very well choreographed.

Sushil- No Comments.
