Gaurav Gera goes missing

It's been almost two months since Gaurav Gera went missing from the show that made him an overnight sensation. Nandu of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi fame has been on a hiatus ever since the location of the show shifted to Nainital and the focus of the story changed.
Gursheel Walia, the creative director of Sony television says, "I agree that Gaurav has not been shooting with us. He was not required in the show for sometime as Jassi had become Neha Shastri. Also, he is busy with a Yash Raj film that he is doing. I don't know how we are going to bring his character back as he has signed yet another film!" However, she is confident that things will get sorted out and Nandu will return to the show.
The Yash Chopra film that Gera features in is called Niki and Neil and is being directed by Arjun Sablok. Gera has just returned from a long outdoor schedule in Vancouver of the film. "I just got back last week and I'm leaving for Prague in a few days for a new film called Bombay to Paris," he says. The film is being made by the Yahaan team and will have several new faces making their debut. "Nobody from the production team or the channel has spoken to me about Jassi," he laments. "No one has called to ask for any dates. So, there is no question of me not giving time to the serial. Yes, I'm busy doing films at present. But that doesn't mean that I'll sideline Jassi. I cannot leave the show because I owe my success to it. But if they don't want me, I'm not going to send them any feelers or reminders either."
The man agrees that if he returns now, it will be difficult to explain his long absence from the show. But it isn't something that the writers of a show can't do!
"I'm only here for a few days and I'm going to be shooting for The Great Indian Comedy Show. I'm not going to deny that I'm feeling bad about being away from the show. They have brought in so many new actors now. Maybe the idea was to revamp the show. In fact Jassi's entire family has been missing for a long time from the show. I keep hearing stories about how Nandu won't be called back. Honestly I'll be fine with that too. But I only wish that I get to know about it from the channel and not other people," he adds.
