Fina lly, today's episode promises a new ray of hope for our Jassi...a well directed episode, wherein the feelings & emotion of every character, right from Nandu to Mallika were captured to perfection...watch out for an absolutely adorable Armaan in the last scene, and the miracle of love: how it can melt a stony heart.
GULMOHUR: JASSI'S CABIN
A disheveled Armaan slowly open's the door of his Jassi's cabin. He looks just recovered from the dazzling new revelation of his love. Trying to support himself, he pushes his unhealthy, unshaven self inside.
Resting against the wall and looking immensely tires, he says to himself, " If Jessica is Jassi....why did she not tell me before? No...I should have been able to feel the existence of my love around me....Is my love not true then?", he looks frightened, to doubt his own poor heart. "...Or is that I failed to see the truth?"
Memories of the court scene, where Jassi was shouting why she needed to change herself, flash before his eyes, as he tries to digest the reality.
"Oh why did my heart not tell me quietly that this is my Jassi?" he accuses himself painfully.
Again scenes in the court where Jassi cried that it was not only her but many more like Mallika, Aryan, Raj who killed her, torture his memory. For a moment, he looks remorseful....was he too one among the killers?
"Whenever you needed me Jassi, I was never there for you...I stood far behind, just watching the game when you suffered..", his eyes well with tears, as he rests his hands on his secretary's desk, bending close. "And even today, I am doing nothing that can help you!"
Armaan looks as if he can never forgive himself.
PRISON: JASSI'S CELL
Jassi is sitting in her cell, looking exhausted and miserable.( Btw, she has changed..wonder who provided the new set of clothes?? 😕 )
She tells Babaji that she believes what she did was right. If victory is supposed to come to her after defeat, then she is willing to wait. She says that the only thing is that she misses her family no end & wonders what they might be going through. She folds her hands together and prays that along with her, Babaji give them strength too, to endure.
WALIA HOUSE
Bebe sighs deeply, sitting on her rocking chair. Billu comes and asks her to have her food. She refuses. Billu looks irritated & asks her to stop being stubborn. Bebe snaps back that he stop being stubborn too. She tells him obstinately that she won't eat even a morsel. Billu grumbles that he is fed up with the 2 women in his house: one refuses to stop crying & the other refuses to eat. He tells his mother that once the court has passed its orders, it cannot change anything till Jassi proves herself. Bebe asks him if he has eaten. Billu looks away and lies that of course he has, he is not crazy to believe that Jassi will come back if he starves. Bebe then tells him to go and ask Amrit. Billu says helplessly that Amrit has prayed almost 10 times from morning.
OUTSIDE THE COURT: NANDU & PURAB
Nandu is telling Purab that he has also tries 10 numbers, but no lawyer in town has agreed to take up Jassi's case. Purab ( I felt he looked like his Alibaug self..did he have a haircut 😛 )? tells Nandu that he knows of 1 lawyer who can tackle Thakral, she is smart & resourceful. However, there is one problem: she is too selective about her cases.
Nandu's face lights up as he chirps, "ARMAAN!! I'll speak to Armaan..he'll surely do anything for Jassi!!" And, yes, you guessed it absolutely: Purab's face loses every bit of its light 🤢 : he sounds startled to hear Armaan's name. His face is a collage of feelings: insecurity combined with hope.
GULMOHUR: ARMAAN & RAJ
( After ages an Armaan-Raj scene...the same magic: Raj confident, Armaan stressed and begging Raj to do something...)
"Mr.Malani!! Please can you at least see the papers?? No? Oh..ok....", Raj is busy over the phone, trying to convince a lawyer, while Armaan sits on his chair, looking a picture of frustration.
Raj gives up. "No. He refused..I'm amazed! The moment they hear Jessica's name...."( The poor guy can't accept that Jessica herself is Jhansi Ki Rani )
Armaan gets up as if lightening has stuck.
"Not Jessica, Raj!! JASSI!! Say Jassi! If we don't accept the fact that she is Jassi, how can we convince the world??" he corrects his friend.
Raj shakes his head. "So many connections..so many contacts! I don't understand where we are failing..", he paces about the room, dramatically moving his hands. "Why are we not able to save Jassi?? I mean this is RIDICULOUS!!!!" he closes his eyes with his hands.
Armaan comes up to him. "You don't say that Raj!! If you lose hope, I'll be all alone!"
(Back to square one, Armaan grow up!! Look beyond Raj...but I guess their collaboration is an integral ingredient of the JJKN magic! 😛 )
Raj turns to look at his friend. He puts on his hand on Armaan's shoulder. Looking like a wise sage, he tells his friend, "You know what? Jassi doesn't need a lawyer, what she needs is a miracle!!"
Armaan looks near to tears.
"Ok, we can try!" He pats Armaan's back. "Atleast we can try!!"
Armaan proceeds to dial another number.
PURAB AND HIS NEW LAWYER
"Yes? Indira Bhargav here!", a soft, but confident voice speaks.
"Purab Mehra speaking, Indiraji. I need to talk to you regarding a case.." Purab's anxious voice.
"What case?"
"Ja...I mean Jessica Bedi's..."
"Oh! That case? The case that swept Mr.Thakral to stardom overnight, am I right Mr. Mehra?"
"I will be obliged, Indiraji, if you agree to take up this case."
"It is not the question of the case, Mr. Mehra. It is the question of my principles & my ideals. I do not take up any case that involves Mr. Thakral. It may be true that he has tried to trap Jessica, Thakral: I am aware of his ways. Mr. Mehra, Thakral takes up a case, primarily for 2 reasons: 1. For winning. and 2. For winning before the media. And he can fall to any extent to do so. Maybe he agrees to do so, but I do not. I do not want to get myself involved in Thakral's stardom, in any way. I am sorry, Mr. Mehra."
They hang up and Purab's eyebrows knit up.
Nandu thinks that he must inform Uncle. (Billu)
MALLIKA'S APARTMENT :MALLIKA & ARMAAN (WAY TO GO, ARMAAN)
NDTV continues it's perfect news round up on how Jessica needs to prove she's Jassi.
Mallika is lying lazily on her bed, her wine glass in hand (Oops Mallika...watch out..dare you spill anything? 😉 ), dressed in lovely yellow and looking like a doll.
"Pppoor Jassi!! and now Pppooor Jessica!!" she smiles, drinking happily.
"Celebrating, aren't you, Mallika?"
( This is what I call a "Rumi Baam moment)
Right, Armaan's cold voice.
Mallika looks up startled. She gets up, looking infinitely embarrassed.
"Nn..No, Armaan!!"
Armaan give her an icy cold stare.
"No!! Nothing like that! Actually, today I was rather upset...my heart was heavy..( with conspiracies and evil plans?? 😡 )...So I was drinking...why don't you have a drink, Armaan?" she says, in her artificial-sweetener voice.
Armaan's eyes bore deep into her's. "What happened with Jassi, was wrong, Mallika."
You are absolutely right, Armaan! I may have had problems with her, but I do miss her too..." She turns away, her eyes dare not meeting Armaan's.
Armaan can't believe this woman's hypocrisy. "Mallika??" he utters with disbelief.
"Jassi was so important to Gulmohur!"
Armaan pulls her to face him, with all his might.
"Jassi is important Mallika! She is very much alive and needed...for my love!!"
Mallika looks at him with disbelief. "You too, Armaan? You too fell for Jessica's words? You, who love Jassi? You should be supporting me, to lead Jessica to the gallows!"
Armaan's temper rises. He points his finger at her.
"Dare you say one word against her! And how do you know about my love, Mallika?? My love, whose even one part, didn't ever come to you?" he cries harshly. Mallika's eyes fill up with tears of rage and pain, at his words.
Armaan continues, "I had come here, with the hope that for the sake of my love for Jassi, you will melt. But you have been and will always remain, stone-hearted. Remember, Mallika, if love is true, it does not need anyone's help. I will fight alone.
He tigtens his grip over her hand.
"You do what you want to, and I'll do what I want. But the victory will be ours, Jassi's. "
His voice is crisp with a fresh air of confidence, after a long, long time.
WALIA HOUSE
Amrit asks Billu is he has spoken to Nandu. Billu stammers that no lawyer is willing to take up the case against Thakral. Bebe curses Thakral for being after her bacchi's life, and hopes he go to hell. ( Dear Bebe, add one curse from each of us here at IF and send it, with love and parathas (with extra chilly) to Thakral 🤢 ).
Billu proceeds to call Nandu, on Amrit's pleading.
Nandu tells him about the Indira Bhargav failure. Billu, however, acts on the phone that a lawyer has agreed, to pacify Amrit and Bebe.
He then hangs up and manages to make Bebe eat, who looks a little relieved.
Billu tries his best to hide the worry from his face.
PRISON: JASSI'S CELL
Jassi continues to pray that Babaji also grant Armaan Sir strength to face this. She says that she'll soon get out and then meet Armaan Sir.
ON THE ROAD: NANDU & ARMAAN
Armaan gets out of his car. Nandu tells Armaan about Indira Bhargav's refusal. Armaan says that they have to free Jassi. Nandu tells him that Indira has never lost a case in her career but she refuses to take this one up to avoid the media hype. Armaan argues that how can she refuse without even hearing the case. He says that if she can beat Thakral, then he thinks he has found his miracle.
ARMAAN ANND HIS MIRACLE
Armaan stands outside a closed door, green home-creepers hanging from the sides. He rings the bell, closes his eyes, and then rings it again repeatedly, in frustration.
He turns his back to make a phone-call, when the door opens.
A calm looking, welcome countenance greets him. "Jee?"
Armaan swallows. "Miss Indira Bhargav?"
"I am. Say?"
"I'm Armaan Suri. Can I...?"
"Please come in."
She leads him inside to a neat looking house, with walls painted brick red.
"Yes, tell me?"
"Indiraji.................."
Armaan's loses his words. He folds his hands.
"I fold my hands before you, to request you to please take up Jasmeet Walia's case."
Indira looks mildly surprised at his unexpected gesture.
"I like to take any case from the beginning, Mr. Suri. I know you need me, but...(she sits down on a sofa, crossing her legs) I am Sorry, about this one. I cannot help you." She looks straight ahead.
" All lawyers have refused, Indiraji! And the Public Prosecutor is doing everything to trap Jassi...he can sentence her to any punishment..Only you can help her..." he pleads.
"Mr. Suri..."
Armaan bends down on his knees, next to her sofa. He folds his hands again, looking extremely humble tot he core.
" Indiraji, please! I have never helped Jassi...Whenever she needed me, I turned my face away...My soul is crushed under this burden! Believe me, Indiraji, Jassi is a very good girl..When you will meet her, even you will realize this! Jassi is a girl...who cries even when she looks at a withered flower..", his face softens, looking like a withered flower itself..." Jassi is a girl who has never ever thought ill for anyone, I wonder then why God is giving the whole world's punishment to her!" his brown eyes fill up with tears.
Indira gets up.
"I agree Jassi sounds like a very good girl, Mr. Suri! But don't expect so much from me..I am no Goddess!"
"Only you can help her, Indiraji! Not only is Jassi innocent, there are several others who are suffering too! Her grandmother, whose eyes fixed on the door, waits for her to come home as if she is waiting for God! Her old father, who, while trying to console others, has himself broken down!" Tears trickle down Armaan's eyes.
Indira looks at him, softly.
"You really love Jassi very much, don't you, Mr. Suri?" she asks gently.
Her words spill more tears from Armaan's eyes.
"After so many difficulties, I have got her back! If I lose her again, perhaps my own breaths will come to a stop! I don't want to say anything more..."
(Don't , Armaan, or else our breaths will come to a stop!)
He looks down.
PRISON: JASSI'S CELL
Jassi has finally managed to fall herself to some sleep.
A voice wakens her up. "Excuse me??"
Jassi wakes up, confused.
A calm, warm smile greets her.
"I'm Indira Bhargav, your lawyer."
Jassi is amazed.
"So by what name should I call you, Jessica, or Jassi?"
A stunned Jassi cannot believe her ears.
Armaan's miracle has worked. 👍🏼
TOMORROW:Thakral & Indira come face to face in court, each resolving to achieve their set objectives.
