Ashmit and Jassi do a slow waltz as the guests look on admiringly. (I bet both Mona and Akash were more than a little helped by their JDJ experience!š) Then, unnoticed by Jassi, Ashmit signals to the bandmaster, and suddenly the music turns very slow and romantic. Jassi looks plainly uncomfortable, but Ashmit is all attention and charm, using the opportunity to draw closer and closer.š”
In the middle of the song, she suddenly breaks away and moves back. "Basā¦..I'm tired."
He snaps his fingers at the waiter. "Ma'am ke liye soft drink lao!" Turning to her, he leads her to a sofa and makes her sit down, saying, "It was a great pleasure dancing with youā¦.lekin I'm sorry, maine shayad aapko naraaz kar diyaā¦."
Jassi: (in a low but indignant voice) Aap yes ab kya kar rahe hai? Main toh yahaan sirf unn weavers ke baare mein discuss karne aayi thiā¦.aur aap point par aa hi nahin rahe hai?
He stands up and scratches his chin thoughtfully. "Actually, baat toh main bhi aapse karna chahta thaā¦lekin ye party kuch zyada hi badi ho gayiā¦..kya karein, jab aapke itne dost ho toh aap kisi ko na bula kar, usse naraaz toh nahin kar sakte na! Ab yaahanā¦..yahaan hum important baat kaise kar sakte haiā¦.mujhe guests ko attend karna hai aur..iss waqt tak baut logon ne thodi zyada pi li hoti haiā¦..unke bhi khayal rakhna zaroori haiā¦.."
She stands up coldly. "Theek haiā¦.toh mera yahaan rukne ka koi matlab nahin!"
Ashmit: Arreā¦.aap toh bura maan gayi! Theek hai, aapki naraazgi jayaz haiā¦.lekin at least dinner khaye bina toh mat jaiyeā¦.hum kal iss baare mein baat zaroor karengeā¦
Jassi: Are you sure?? Kahin kal aap apne iraada phir se toh nahin badal denge?
Ashmit: Aapko mujhpar vishwaas nahin hai?
Jassi: Kisi ko jaane bina, uss par vishwaas karna samajhdaari bhi toh nahin hai!
He throws up his hands. "Aapse kaun jeet sakta hai! Toh chaliyeā¦.kal aap mujhe jaan jayengi, yahi umeed haiā¦.main subah aapse phone karke appointment fix karta hunā¦."
Jassi agrees grimly. At his insistence, she has dinner, then comes back to the hotel, looking worried. It is dawn already. Shaina is up and preparing to go. Jassi sees her off, then tumbles tiredly into bed.
A while later her phone rings. She jumpsāshe has been asleepāand sees the sun pouring into the room. When she picks up the phone, it is Armaan calling.
Armu: Good morning, sweetheart!
Jassi: (groggily) Good morning!
Armu: (cheerily) Kya hua? Itna pheeka-pheeka good morning? Abhi so ke uthi ho kya? Mumbai mein toh sabse pehle uth jaati thiā¦.aur mujhe bhi utha deti thiā¦.jaanti ho kitna time ho gaya haiā¦..9 baj rahe hainā¦main Gulmohur ke liye nikalne ki wala hunā¦ā¦
Jassi tries to say something, but chokes. He hears the sound and stiffens. "Jassiā¦kya baat hai? Tum theek toh ho?"
Jassi: Pata nahin Armaanā¦.mujhe kuch achcha nahin lag raha haiā¦..ek ajeeb si feeling aa rahi haiā¦jaise kuch galat hone wala hoā¦..
Armu: Jassiā¦Jassi pleaseā¦.mujhe batao na kya hua hai?
Jassi: Kuch ho hi toh nahin rahaā¦.wo weavers wali problem ab tak solve nahin huiā¦.aur yeh Ashmit Singhania bahut ajeeb sa aadmi haiā¦.pata nahin uss par kaise bharosa karunā¦.
She tells him about her two encounters with him. Armaan bristles (jealous!!š³)
Armu: Jassiā¦listen to meā¦..tumhe koi zaroorat nahin aise logon se milne kiā¦.ab tum chup chaap aaram karoā¦.main yahan apne lawyers se baat karke dekhta hun, koi raasta nikal sakta hai kyaā¦.par tab tak tum uss aadmi se door raho!
Jassi concedes reluctantly. Just as Armu ends the call, Meghna rushes in.
Meg: Armaanā¦..I think Jassi is in trouble!
Armu: (springing up) Yeh kya keh rahi ho!
Meg: I'm serious Armaanā¦..main abhi apne room mein concentrate kar rahi thiā¦.tabhi mujhe ek clear feeling aayi ki Jassi kisi problem mein haiā¦!!
Armu sits down heavily on the bed, his face aghast. But it takes him only a few seconds to make up his mind.
"Meri Jassi ko kuch nahin hogaā¦..main issi waqt Kangra ke liye nikal raha hunā¦.main aa raha hun Jassi!"š
