Mona on Life Ban Jaye...update, repeat

I thought someone would update this since this was aired on Sunday....but I'm rather glad I have the privilege of doing it. Mona was on Life Bab Jaye, the weekly countdown that features a celeb every week. Luckily I saw the promo which showed Mona...it's not a program I watch otherwise.

It was a very cute episode, with some memorable statements by Mona. Will post the complete update soon!😉

I just checked from setindia. It repeats at 10:30 am on Saturday, in India. So if anyone can record and upload it, that would be great!😊

Ok, here goes:

The anchor started off by saying a few words about the concept of beauty, and how inner beauty was more important that outer. She said there is a person who exmeplifies both these kinds of beauty as she has lived the character of an ugly duckling who transformed into a gorgeous swan. 👏


Mona entered, and the interview proceeded. There was actually very little conversation, since the countdown had to be inserted in between....but that little was interesting! 😛



Parmita(Host): MOna, what made you take up the role of Jassi?


Mona: I liked the concept and the fact that it was a success in 120 countries.


P: Mona, your smile is so genuine....it reminds me of Madhubala! 😳

MS: OMG....that is such a huge compliment....thank you!


P: Most people try to cash in on their success. But after JJKN and JDJ, you havent been in the news. Why?


MS: I am doing a show, for Sony, called Extreme Makeover (I dont think I need to repeat all she mentioned about the concept)


P: Now it's time for the rapid-fire round. I'm going to be like Mallika of JJKN and grill you!

MS: Ohhh....I hope Armaan sir comes to rescue me! 😳


P: Who is a better dancer....Shveta Salve...or Mona Singh?

MS: Both! (grins)


P: Would you like your man to be short and ugly, or dumb? (Ehhh...what a question!) 😕

MS: I won't say short and ugly..why not sweet and simple? 😊


P: If Mughal-e-Azam had to be remade and you played Anarkali, whom would you want as Salim?

MS: I would say...Shah Rukh Khan! 😃


P: So would he say "I love you J-j-j-Jassi?"


MS: Ummm.....probably "A-a-a-anar!" 😆

P: We've heard that you will soon be in films?

MS: YOu have heard right...I am reading some very interesting scripts...and hopefully 2007 will be a very good year. 😊


Next a fan chosen randomly called Mona and asked her a question. It was some Rishi from Shimla.


Rishi: Mona, I'm a big fan of yours....


MS: How big? 😆


Rishi: Bigger than.....Khaitan fan! 😆


Now hold your breath....


Rishi: Mona, you worked with Armaan sir for 3 years...wer you never attracted to him....as a lover?? 😳


(OMGGGGGG.....thank you Rishi....you asked the very question every MandA monger had been dying to ask! 😳 )



Mona: (wistful laugh) Kya karein....unhone bahut jaldi shaadi kar li! (What could I do.....he got married too soon! 😉 😛 😛 )

Rishi: I have heard something else too....that you and Karan Oberoi are a couple?

MS: OMG Rishi...you know everything about me....sitting there in Shimla....


Rishi: That's why i am your fan! 😃



The next round had Parmita ask Mona some questions, and the same would be put to her close friends to see how their answers tallied with hers.

Parmita: Is Mona a better actress or a better dancer?

MS: Better actress.


Now they showed Rakshanda, and Parmeet on a screen.

RK: JDJ has established that Mona is a dancer too..but we knew it long back. When JJKN had just started, one morning at 9 am when she was putting on her make up, she suddenly leapt out of her seat and started doing bhangra. 😆 😆 But...i would still say she is a better actress....esp in emotional scenes....I have never ever seen MOna using glycerine...she cries naturally. 👏 👏 👏


Parmeet: I would say a better tabalchi (drummer)! 😆 She always used to be drumming on something on the sets.


MS: OMG....yeh Parmeet ko kya ho gaya....I think he's saying this because I always used to drum on my Gulmohur file that I carried.


PArmita: Whom does Mona make a better onscreen pair with.....Apoorva Agnihotri...or Karan Oberoi??

MS: I would say Karan...more real. (I wanted to pour my mango panna over her head! 😡 )


RK: Apu, coz i'm personally very fond of Apu.

Toby: Apu has been her onscreen pair, and Karan in her personal life....but why is no one talking about OUR pair? We danced together, won a contest together....

Parmeet: Apu is a good friend...Karan is a good friend (was he talking about himself or Mona? 😕 ) But i think MOna would make a great pair with Gaurav...Nandu. 😛

Parmita: What was the ugliest thing about Jassi....glasses, braces or hair?


MS: All of them completed the character, but I would say braces.

RK: As Mallika, i hated everything about her...but i know personally what annoyed Mona most were her braces.


Toby: All of them...they were part of the package


Parmeet: I would say glasses....because of the eyes had been visible, there would have been no impact.


Parmita: Mona, I dunno if your friends have got it right....


MS: It means, since they lost, I win this contest! 😆



P: Mona, any message for your fans?


MS: My father always used to say...aim for an aeroplane, at least you will get to drive a Mercedes! But....on a serious note....dreams do come true....work hard and believe that you will get there!



Mona looked lovely and back with her Jassi zing. Even the host was laughing hard along with her. 👏

OMG!!! Mona really said that!!! If only Apu hadn't got married before her makeover!!! 😉 And among all her friends, RK seems to have got the most answers right!!!
