I think Sony is desperate to regain their number 2 slot after Star which they hv lost after JJKN went off air and thats why they r chopping serials left, right and center

As far as the shows on Sony r concerned they hv decided to put a full stop to all the shows that deal with older generation as they want to concentrate more on younger generation romance 😕 ,then r chopping JHJL because it deals with older generation romance and they r not happy with Virudh because according to them the storyline of Virudh is unusual and the audience r not interested in Politics and social issues;they chopped off Kulvadhu because according to them the storyline was regressive....at present they want to continue with Kaajjal because its trps r increasing and they feel the storyline deals with young peppy romance and theres a lots of scope to show variety in the serial, they r continuing with ELAS because it has fantastic trps 😕 ...

In short Sony now wants to follow the footsteps of Star and introduce more Saas-Bahu soaps as they r unfortunately working

If this is what will happen in the coming months, I'm more than glad that Mona is not considering a daily soap at the moment. She should wait till her contract expires and then move on to other channels.

If Sony wants to go "young", it should take a leaf out of its sister channel SAB's book. Their shows are REALLY young and LRL is raking in the TRPs.👏

I think Sony shud hire shows from Zee 😆 ..Zee shows are quite entertaining..let it be Betiyaan, Teen bahuranya, BMTD, Saloni etc Those shows good concept quite different. 😊

I just read abt Kaajjal TRP's which says that it is the Leading serial on Sony currently..and ofcourse not to forget Indian Idiol. 👏 👏

Anu, i checked....Kajal has a TRP of less than 1, while Virrudh has 1.22.

and CID!.....ohh I am forgetting Aahat! ohh no....I also forgot to include BooGie Woogie!

Virrudh is a smashing show and would be a shame if it went off air..yet again I agree with Ananya that you need shows that are in demand. Star and Zee have gone for Saas Bahu shows. I ain't implying that this is the way forward but then again they should have at least one saas bahu show so that they can gain viewership which would in turn help the other shows.

It should be VERY OBVIOUS to them that the other shows won't bring in the TRPs in the way that JJKN did, but thats no reason to go hacking shows every 5 months! I agree with Sharna - they need to RELAX! And I swear to God if they even go near Kaajjal with a 10 foot pole, I'll hurt someone!

- sorry, i'm a bit irritated.

Oh they better stay clear from Kaajjal or else! Sony used to have the creme of the crop and be diverse with its serials but its losing the TRP race to K-serials, which is a shame since most are regressive and all of them are complete rip offs of Bollywood movies or of each other.
Ekta recycles her stories but she just has the finances to re-package it under glitzy garments, lavish sets and new fresh faces. I will admit that i watch some of the K serials but i take them with a pinch of salt as they start off good and quickly turn into the same old, run of the mill soap. The only thing that keeps you hooked is your loyalty to your fav. actors.

Yes, Blyton, itsn't it pathetic that shows with good storyline and talented actors also have to go through this stupid TRP TEST. There is no value of talent in TV world. Its just a money machine. Jiski lathi uski bheins.😆

Ekta's crapy shows are gaining higher TRPs than other good shows.

That is so true. Many talented actors are wasted and undergo the stress of working on a daily soap when the storyline is bakwaas. No wonder some great actors are taking sabbaticals.

And Blyton, LRL is amazing. Its fresh and unique. I also thought Virasat was a wonderfully concieved show and it was extremely well casted but they ruined it by shifting it to Star One from Star Plus.

i think sony has become more desperate after it lost the second spot to zee.. even though sony has a diverse mix.. ever since KSKBT started on star 6 years back star has never looked back so i would think it has to do with tryint to claim back the second spot now.. 😕

and who says jhjl is a good show? 🤢
Virrudh is good, but i guess it needs to get more picy, the shalani thing is making it worse, but it will wrk, i like the story and Sushant Sing is looking really good in the serial!!
