Armaan is driving back home, the words of Neha's presentation echoing in his mind. He thinks, "Jassi, I can't wait….yeh surprise dekh ke tum kya kahogi? Tumhe yeh collection pasand toh aayega na? Bas ab kuch dino ki baat hai….." Jassi's face flashes before him.😊
At the Suris' house, the doorbell rings. When the door opens, Puru and Ila see Bebe and Amrit standing before them. Ila gets up hurriedly.
Ila: Arre, aap……aap logon ne kyun takleef ki….hum log aa jate…..
Jassi comes in at this moment and rushes delightedly to them. "Mamma, Bebe……what a surprise! Aapne toh phone bhi nahin kiya…"
Bebe: (smiling) Hum log ek zaroori baat karna chahte hain, issliye aa gaye….
Puru: (cautiously) Zaroori baat? Ghar pe sab kuch theek toh hai na?
Amrit: Sab kuch theek hai bhai saab….(they all sit down) ….bas, ek baat thi Bebe ke dil mein….
Puru and Ila look on enquiringly.
Bebe: Aap log toh jaante hi hain, ki pichli baar Jassi ke saath….(everyone is silent for a moment as painful recollections of the miscarriage flash before them. Jassi looks down and Amrit presses her hand.) Issliye main chahti thi, ki Jassi ki god-bharai ke liye hum Babaji ka aashirwaad lene, Amritsar chale……
Puru and Ila look at Jassi, and then at each other. Angel, who has come into the room, smirks.
Ila: Lekin Amritsar….itni door….
Amrit: (eagerly) Behenji, hum toh aap se ijaazat lene aaye hain…..Jassi jitni hamari hai, utni hi aapki hai….par humein yahi laga ki agar sab Amritsar chale, toh achcha hoga…
Puru: Behenji, hume koi aetraaz nahin hai…par faisla toh Armaan aur Jassi ne lena hai..
Jus then a jubilant Armaan enters. Momentarily taken by surprise, he grins and touches the visitors' feet. Ila tells him about Bebe's idea.
Armaan: Amritsar? (looks intently—meaningfully?—at Jassi😉) Idea toh bahut achcha hai….par JAssi travel kar sakegi?
Jassi: Main kal hi doctor se check up karva ke unki opinion le leti hoon…
Ila: (hesistantly) Theek hai…agar doctor permission de dete hai, toh koi problem nahin….hum travel agent ko phone karke Amritsar mein kissi achche hotel mein poori family ke liye booking karva lete hain….
Bebe and Amrit actually look shocked.
Amrit: Kaisi baatein kar rahe hain behenji….wahaan hamara ghar hote hue, hotel mein koi kyun rukega...?
Angel nearly has a panic attack at this. Ila, looking pale herself, motions to her not to say anything. Armaan tries to put things right.
Armu: (enthusiastically) That's great! Mujhe toh bilkul pichli baar ki tarah..(again gives that meaningful glance to Jassi😳) ….chhat pe charpai daal ke sone ka man kar raha hai…aur ghar ki thandi lassi….aur wo tubewell mein nahaana😛……(winks at Jassi, who blushes and grins)
Puru: (laughing) Lagta hai ye bahut interesting trip hoga! Kyun Angel beta?
Angel can only grimace in reply.
Everything being nearly settled, the Walias have dinner and then leave. As soon as they are alone, Angel confronts Ila.
Angel: Mom! Aap logon ko kya ho gaya hai? Aapne kaise agree kar liya Amritsar jaisi jagah jaane ke liye…aur wo bhi unke ghar me rehna….haon mein? (makes a horrible face🤢)
Ila: Beta, wo hamare samdhi hain, hum unki baat ko aise taal nahin sakte….aur unhone kuch galat toh nahin kaha…
Angel: Par mom, hum uss gaon ke ghar mein kaise rahenge? (A-ha! Prepare for JLH part 2!😉😆) Pata nahin kaise rehte honge wo log…hamare lifestyle se bilkul alag…
Ila: (sternly) Angel, zindagi mein har cheez hame apne convenience ke hisaab se nahin milti…kahin na kahin adjust karna padta hai….aur "wo log" bhi hamare kuch lagte hain, I'm sure wo hamara poora khayal rakhenge.
(Yay for reformed moms-in-law! Contrast this Ila with the Ila of the pre-5 August days, who did her best to stop JandA from getting engaged in Amritsar. Way to go Ilu-Ilu!👏👏👏)
Just then Puru enters, smiling happily.
Puru: Ek aur good news! Mujhe abhi-abhi Meghna ka phone aaya hai, aur usne bataya ki wo iss Saturday ko Mumbai pahunch rahi hai.
Ila: That's great! Isska matlab hum hum sab saath honge!
Angel smiles mailiciously to herself. "Thank you Meg….tumhari timing bahut achchi hai. Ek baar tum aa jao, phir dekhte hain ki yeh Amritsar ka plan kaise banta hai!"
Tomorrow: JandA visit the doctor.
