'I always carry prayer beads in my purse'
ASTRO SPEAK
Actor Rakshanda Khan tells BT that she seeks God's blessings before starting any new project
I believe in destiny. Whatever has to happen will happen. It is pre-written and eventually happens. I graduated in English Literature and never had thought that I'll become an actor, but it's destiny that today, I am one. I am not into astrology. I don't consult astrologers but I have often accompanied friends when they have met tarot card readers and I remember tarot card readers telling me that I will have a happy life but it's never going to be an easy one. I feel astrology binds one and one slowly starts depending on it a lot. I prefer to make my own independent choices. I like to believe in the power of self.
I don't consider black as an inauspicious colour and I wear it very often. I think I wear black dresses 80 per cent of the time. I love diamonds and am not superstitious about wearing them at all. When buying my house, I only ensured that its main door faced east as my grandmother always said so. We pray facing the east and also, an east-facing house means plenty of sunlight.
I am a Libran and I find reading horoscopes great fun. To be frank, I have often realised that predictions in newspapers do come true. But again, I don't follow them on a daily basis. I believe in the power of prayers and I always seek God's blessings before any new project. I always carry prayer beads in my purse so that if I feel disturbed, I can pray. It gives me immense peace and positive vibes.
